Need recommendations for special restaurant

I am looking for some recommendations for an offsite restaurant for my 13 year old daughter and I. We would like to "dress up" before attending La Nouba so don't want to go to a chain restaurant. We would have liked to to to one of the Disney places but can't get reservations at this late date at any of the places she would find something on the menu she would actually eat. We are looking for American food basically, steak, chicken, etc. and something close to Downtown to Disney. I will be renting a car but am not familiar with the area.

Did you try The Turf Club at SSR?
Or maybe Yachtsman steak house?

My pick would be the Bull and Bear at the Waldorf Astoria. It is right next to Caribbean beach, so just a couple of minutes from DTD. One of the best restaurants in Orlando, it is superb.

Let me throw out Johnny's Hideaway, tucked into Crossroads, a short from Cirque. Upscale, mostly steaks and seafood.
