But implying that THAT is the norm for all visitors, that it's unsafe and unacceptable for kids to be there, and that all of World Showcase becomes a 'Blackpool pub crawl' for everyone who visits, is untrue as well as foolish. That's what I'm saying, really.
Please, point out where Marni or anyone said ALL VISITORS treat F&W like a pub crawl. Please point out where he or anyone says EVERYONE who visits treats World Showcase as a "Blackpool pub crawl". Please... please point that out.

Only thing I see from Marni regarding Blackpool Pub Crawl is on the previous page. I don't see him ever use the words EVERYONE or ALL. Think you would admit to putting words in his mouth (or in his post) to fit your agenda and argument? Nah you won't cause the minute you do, you would notice you are wrong.

Never said it hadn't.

It's like a pub crawl in Blackpool.

And rowdy as hell.

But something has to prop up the parks profits.

There is Marni's post. I don't see where he says EVERYONE or ALL GUESTS. Hmmm......

All I get from his post is Epcot/World Showcase is swarned with many adults who enjoy an adult beverage, with many of those adults abusing alcohol. Some of them will engage in a pub crawl, drinking to the point where they are trashed. Once trashed, they get rowdy (I don't see the word violent in marni's post), thus him using the term Blaackpool pub crawl.

Not that hard to understand really.

I think I recall reading on this forum, a couple people who went to F&W and had just the wines and was feeling buzzed from it, so they thought they can like fight off the buzz by having coffees, but they got the coffee from Norway so they got even more buzzed.

Hopefully they didn't follow it up with a slushie from Mexico!

Last time I checked, teenage cheerleaders don't send people to the hospital with injuries cause they yelled GIVE ME A B in the middle of a queue. Meanwhile, rowdy drunks can, and do, get violent, which can lead to someone going to the hospital. Though, I have never witnessed violence myself. Notice, I have said I experienced ROWDY behavior, not violent behavior.

I'd be more offended if a rowdy drunkard cursed up a storm in front of me, yelling obscenities or explicit nonsense at females than a few 16 year old girls cheering their school. Annoying, yes. But not to the point that drunks get.

And if you saw what those cheerleaders were doing, then report it to security. It would be Disney's fault for not stopping them from the misbehaving. They would deserve to be punished. So no, throwing things at people are not okay. If anyone was causing an unsafe environment, they need to be escorted off property.. IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

Exactly - Guests involved in unsafe or disruptive behavior irrespective of cause need to be escorted off property.

I wrote Bob Iger, "stating that if Disney can control the amount of soda sold in Resorts, it could monitor drinks in Epcot. Of course, I got the response from Meg Crofton's team...."can't be done"

More like 'we don't want to, because alcohol is SO PROFITABLE', Just wait till something really bad happens controls will be applied OVERNIGHT.

Personally I wish they would do something BEFORE something happens.

That's a very sweet story. If, you know, there actually WERE rowdy drunks running around Epcot.

Animal Kingdom should totally ban those paper straws because people have been stuffing them with crystal meth and smoking them outside of Chester and Hester's.

See? I can make things up too.

The percentage of people behaving like that is insanely low. Yes, people are going to drink. Yes, people are going to be unable to handle it. Yes, our country has a binge-drinking problem.

Does Disney have a binge Drinking problem? Not IMO. Again.... a lot of these are locals, CPs/CMs, passholders, UCF kids, etc. The most horifing incident I saw last year didnt even involve alcohol. An entertainment CP (her ID was out) yelled very loudly around the Korean booth, asking her friend if they were really serving Dog.

Disney recognized there were complaints and took steps to make it better.

That actually sounds like something I want to do. But I'm not up on my football.

Love that on any given day there seem to be a fair amount of military and recent ex-military in the parks (for all our sakes). Hope Disney keeps it that way (military discounts, etc.)...

Since the rational post seem to be losing this thread, I'll quote and reiterate what @PhotoDave219 is saying.

The percentage of people acting in this way is very low. In 11 years of Food and Wine attendance I have never seen a fight and can probably count on one hand the number of "aggressive" drunks. Loud and obnoxious are 8:45? Sure, seen a bunch of those, but none that made me fear for my safety.

My favorite was a guy running through America yelling about turkey legs, funnel cakes, and fat people. I always wondered if he was talking about me... I could really use a turkey leg right now.
