MNSSHP and MVMCP refunds/transfers

I am planning on attending both of the "parties" this year and wanted to get tickets soon but they are both sooooo far away I was wondering what would happen if I couldn't go for some reason. I talked to a Disney vacation planner and she said they are non-refundable and non-transferable. I was wondering if I couldn't make it could I give the tickets to someone else to use? Do they have your names on them? And if so do they check an ID or anything when you enter the park?

Has anyone out there had any experience with getting refunds or giving your tickets to someone else? It's just alot of money to spend and I'd hate to buy them and something come up that I would be out of the money.

They do not have your name on them. Last year I bought tickets for myself, my husband and my daughter, then at the last minute my daughter decided not to go. I had ordered the tickets by phone, and when I went to pick them up at guest services I told the CM that there were actually only two of us. I had fully expected to eat the cost of the third ticket (heck, I was at WDW alone with my husband for the weekend, it was a small price to pay) but he refunded my credit card for the price of the third ticket. I didn't ask for it.

However the official policy is that tickets are non-refundable. I don't know what "non-transferrable" means as they are not labeled with your name.

Unless you want Halloween or a Friday night I don't think you need to worry too much about the events selling out. JMHO

Last year I went on Halloween thanks to someone here on the forum selling two extra tickets they couldn't use. There were no problems whatsoever with the use of them. :) The official policy doesn't allow for refunds, but if you buy them ahead of time and can't go, you should be able to sell them for cost to someone who can use them without any issue. (Florida state law prohibits selling more then $1 over ticket value so be careful if you try to sell them for more then cost.)

Friday nights sell out because FL residents go on those nights.

Halloween and the night before will sell out also. (This year, Friday 27th, Monday 30th, and Tuesday 31st will all sell out due to the Friday/Halloween rule.)

Most other nights - especially earlier in the party - really shouldn't be a problem. If you want to plan a very specific day to go, then buy your tickets in advance to ensure no surprises. But if you aren't sure or want to wait and plan once you get here for your vacation, going on a weeknight should allow you to buy tickets for the same night's party.

I'll be happy to clarify what you were told...

Special Event Tickets such as Mickey's No So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are purchased for a specific dated event and are paid for in full at the time of purchased. Once purchased these tickets are non-refundable, and the DATE on the ticket is non-transferable.

There is no name printed on these tickets, and once you receive them by mail or from Will Call at the Parks, you are free to give them to anyone you choose. When you place the order, we simply ask for only one name, the person who we will mail the tickets to or the person who will claim them at Will Call.

Unless this is a passholder or DVC member who used a discount offer to purchase the them, the person who receives the tickets does not even need to use one of them.

In the event of a personal tragedy preventing you from attending, you could contact WDW Ticket Services for advice. Although the tickets are officially non-refundable, exceptions have been made in the past but only for extreme circumstances.

Hope this helps and enjoy the Parties! :sohappy: :fork: :xmas:

But if you aren't sure or want to wait and plan once you get here for your vacation, going on a weeknight should allow you to buy tickets for the same night's party.

Although this was true in years past, in recent years the parties have been selling out more and more prior to the day of the event. Hence the reason for additional dates being added each year.

Last year, nearly every event night, tickets were sold out by at least a day or more prior to the event, and most weekend nights as well as nights toward the end of the season sold out months in advance.

At the Disney Reservation Center, we never know how many tickets are left for any given event night, or if a night is approaching a sell-out. We are only told when ticket sales for a select night have closed due to the night has sold out. Any advice you get as to there are a lot of tickets left, or there are only a few tickets left is simply an educated guess by the Reservation Agent.

To be ensure availability, it is always best to purchase your tickets as soon as you are sure of your dates.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:
