It's no wonder the Cardinals have won more World Series than any other NL team. Now I'm scared to ask how many teams call themselves the "Yankees."

Yankees are getting pounded. Maybe they celebrated too much after their Grapefruit League championship.

And out west, while I congratulate the Angels and their fans for taking the Cactus League pennant this year, I'm still heartbroken for the Mariners.

Seattle made a strong final push during the final games of Spring Training, but barely missed 1st place by only half a game! Things got a little crazy last night outside of Safeco Field.

:( Things might seem bleak now, Mariners fans. But the next 11 months will go by before you know it, and life will be worth living again, as your team battles for another Cactus Cup, or whatever.

It's reasons like this why I strongly believe there needs to be a wild card system in place for Spring Training. Sure teams like Seattle & St. Louis played well and gave their front runners a good chase...but sadly all for not. :(

Luckily MLB has scheduled a Cactus - Grapefruit Championship series in mid-June for the Yanks & Angels to battle it out and decide who is the true king of Spring for 2017.

The reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs are less than an hour away from kicking off their 2017 season. Most of you already knew that. I just wanted an excuse to type "reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs", as that is something I've never typed, read, or spoken before.

The defending World champion Chicago Cubs. Wow. Just seems surreal.

One of my neighbors had a Cubs banner hanging outside their house. I'm sure they've been a lifelong fan and are proudly displaying their colors.

The Mets won, even though their starting pitcher left with a blister and their most famous player didn't play.

The way Atlanta was executing runs against the Mets today, he could've just used his blistered hand to check email & browse Facebook on his smartphone while lobbing pitches with his other hand, and I doubt it would've made much of a difference.

In the 4th inning of the season the Padres were already using a backup catcher as a relief pitcher. That's probably not a good sign for their postseason chances.

Guthries best years were when he was an Oriole. No debate.
