This is a collaborative project between @MonorailRed and myself -- where we will be going back to 1971 and re-designing the Magic Kingdom from scratch! With a blend of things that work, new takes on classic attractions, and a healthy dose of new aspects to discover, it should be a fun endeavor to take over the next few weeks!

A few of the attractions for inclusion in the new Magic Kingdom have already been finished over the years! Some *cough* Western River *cough* taking longer than expected:p

As we go -- the Map above will be labeled/fleshed out... and links will be provided in this opening post.

Below I'll post some teasers for attractions and entertainment to be included in this personalized Magic Kingdom. Enjoy!:)

Sorry, I mean that the images for the Mad Tea Party and Fort Discovery are showing like this:
John_Hurt
.
Yeah I know what you mean...that happens with me sometimes as well...it depends on the source (in this case I had those images saved from the 1966 project on my computer.) Whereas the other ones were from this site.

I'll figure it out and repost them as we tackle those areas!

To give a brief introduction -- this was a project done for SYWTBAI Season 13. If you would like to view the whole project, you can view the project in full here http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...ason-13-get-a-clue.914875/page-5#post-7306072

However, like most Disney ideas, no idea is ever thrown out and a lot of times ideas are tweaked around to fit in different areas of the parks/resorts. The same goes for the Timber Peak Saloon. Originally slated for the Wilderness Lodge - this saloon will now be located in Frontierland -- as not only a tie to the surrounding landscape, but keeping the heart of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers backstory in tact, with a few modifications, which will be seen along the way. This Saloon/Bar was a really fun creative project to work on (especially coming up with the drinks) which is something rarely seen in imagineering projects on here.

So let's get to it!

Location in Magic Kingdom

Originally located on the Wilderness Lodge grounds, Timber Peak will now be in the heart of Frontierland, with views of Western River Expedition and Big Thunder Mountain off in the distance. On the map, the location seems to be connected to a location in Adventureland...and that's because -- it is!:geek:

Through a secret S.E.A. tunnel to another meeting location -- more to come on that in the Adventureland write-up!

Backstory

Timber Peak Saloon Origins

The original backstory was an elaborate tale of how notable S.E.A. character Barnabus T. Bullion and his daughter Abigail have a reconciliation with each other and Bullion's greedy nature is subsided a little bit. Essentially, Abigail leaves and heads north from Tumbleweed, AZ -- and Bullion follows, he and his daughter make amends, and they settle in Yellowstone, WY with Colonel Ezekiel Moreland (owner of the Wildnerness Lodge) and then the Timber Peak Saloon is formed.

However, this backstory will be kept relatively simple. Essentially, after a falling out with his daughter, Abigail Bullion runs away from Tumbleweed, leaving with Jason Chandler, who works for Barnabas T. Bullion. Wanting to make her own life, Abigail and Jason begin mining in another mountain range called Timber Peak, and begin having more success than Barnabas, which makes him angry. Yet after a mining accident almost takes Abigail's life, Barnabas feels remorse and goes to help his daughter, making amends. Abigail says that Jason Chandler has contacted other S.E.A. members and they are coming out to the American west to see the "new" Bullion. Using the mining profit, Barnabas builds a S.E.A. meeting place, the Timber Peak Saloon, on the outskirts of Tumbleweed, AZ - which is frequented by the rest of S.E.A.'s members for years to come.

Timber Peak Saloon - Exterior Description
1_zps54zgx4eg.png

The quaint, two-story Timber Peak Saloon is a seamless blend of the architectural designs of Frontierland. It also is reminiscent of a small town saloon, typical in the American Frontier, and is also a subtle call-back to the greater Frontierland/Big Thunder Mountain Railroad archetype of a saloon.

Timber Peak Saloon - Interior Description
Render_zpsphbov5s8.png

5_zpsst31mf6e.png

Using the Bullion family fortune and gold profits that Barnabas had inherited and found, the interior of Timber Peak keeps a rustic vibe, but also adds a sophisticated touch as well. The wood panelings blends in with the aesthetic of Frontierland, while the more vibrant olive green furnishings offer a unique atmospheric location within the resort, while still keeping true to the overall land theme.

Inside Timber Peak Saloon there are two floors.

The first floor includes the bar area, majority of the seating locations, restrooms, as well as a corner for live western music to be played on select nights. As you take the stairs up to the second floor, you can walk out onto a balcony that wraps around the majority of the saloon, providing grand vistas of both the resort and villas. Moreover, on the second floor, there is additional seating for the food/beverage area, and two private rooms that can be used by the guests.

There is a Billiards room on the second floor, continuing the rustic theme in its design, equipped with a billiards table and an assortment of other games.
20160707_202631_zpsaadsnrpu.jpg

There is also an elaborate S.E.A. private meeting room next to the billiards room, which was used by Jason Chandler, Barnabas T. Bullion, and several other S.E.A. members who would visit Timber Peaks for secret meetings in the American Frontier.

Additional Timber Peak Saloon Facts

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Hidden Easter Eggs:

The original concept for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was inspired by the Disney film The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, starring John Davidson. On select nights, a live music band of the same name will play, with the name being a tribute to the inspiration for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The horseshoe in the bar is right-side up. On the ride, before you enter the bat room mine section at the beginning of the attraction, there is an upside-down horseshoe, which superstitious people think is bad luck. When Barnabas T. Bullion built his new saloon, he made sure any horseshoes inside were right-side up.

Timber Peak's founding date was September 23rd, same as the opening day of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the Magic Kingdom.

The famous saying "Hang on to your hats and glasses" can be seen as you walk towards the rest rooms on the first floor.

Holiday Overlays
20160708_193124_zpss9yal8s5.jpg

During the Christmas Season, the Saloon will feature various decorations including wreathes, garland, and lights, to add to the holiday cheer. There will be special holiday menu items that are only available from November till the beginning of January.

Some prominent menu items are Peppermint Vodka drinks, Egg Nog (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) as well as a variety of mixed beverages with a dash of seasonal delight, such as festive bar glasses and elaborate decoration displays.

In the next post, we will be covering the "Pine Creek River Rafts"

Pine Creek River Rafts
pine-creek-river-rafts-3-jpg.102432

Backstory:
Near the tiny town of Tumbleweed, Rocky Ridge is a successful oil drilling community. The two communities typically trade goods back and forth via rafts along the Pine Creek River, which separates the two towns. Despite the growing trade route with the discovery of oil, Native Americans in the Rocky Ridge Mountains are frustrated at what the oil has done to their water supplies. Nowadays they are typically seen attempting to send the trade rafts back to Rocky Ridge and find another means of transportation. In addition, bandits are also known to prowl the water's edge as the try and steal the oil for personal profit. As you board your trade raft towards Tumbleweed along the Pine Creek River, don't be surprised to run into some harrowing adventures along the way!

Location:
31789241284_637239304b_b.jpg

Pine Creek River Rapids will use land beyond the brim of the Walt Disney World Railroad. After you pass under the Fronteirland Station, you will be able to stay right and head towards the new attraction. Backstage cast member break trailers will be moved further out onto Caribbean Way. Any utilidor entrances we have been assured can also be pushed back to make room for the expansion.

Queue:
As you meander through the town of Rocky Ridge, you veer left and approach a large boat house at the edge of town. Inside there will be a FastPass+ Queue and a Stand-By Queue. On the walls there will newspaper articles about the oil discovery and the increase in trade. There will also be hints at the Native Americans who live in the territory, as well as various interactive artifacts from the Rocky Ridge Mountains when prospectors heard of Tumbleweed's ghost stories and tried searching for gold in other towns - which will give guests more depth to the Rocky Ridge story as they wait to board their raft.

Ride Vehicle Concept Art:
20150722_151031-1-1-jpg.102405

The vehicles will have 4 rows of 4, for a 16 person capacity. The vehicles are themed as trade rafts used to transport goods back and forth from neighboring towns. In the back of the raft is the oil that you'll be transporting to Tumbleweed on your journey.

Pine Creek River Rafts Simulation:

Here is a virtual tour of our attraction via Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Below you can read a detailed scene by scene description of the ride.

Ride-Through (Scene by Scene):
Scene 1 - As guests leave the loading area, they float into a forest setting, with trees and animals on the sides of the river. You are immersed in the surroundings of pine and conifer trees, and hear birds chirping in the distance. The sights and sounds of the scene envelop you in the new environment and the deep wilderness of Frontierland. If you're lucky in the distance, you can hear the Walt Disney World Railroad pulling into or away from the station. In the trees, you can see animals grazing like you can on the WDW Railroad. AA Bison can be seen eating grass and picking their heads up to look at the oncoming rafts
150762_1005921859423313_1150179286187099733_n.jpg

Scene 2 - After traveling for a little bit, on the horizon you see some smoke rising from a group of trees near an entrance in the mountain as the river heads in that direction. The river begins to become a little more rapid, the trees begin to get closer to the river, and you hear drums in the distance. Unaware of what lies ahead, you continue to press forward.

Scene 3 - Once you approach the mountain opening and enter, you see a large Indian Reservation. AA Native Americans warn us of the grave danger we are in, and that we must turn back immediately. But before we have the chance, bandits show up on the left, trying to steal the oil being stored on the back of our raft. A harrowing chase scene begins through the base of the Rocky Ridge Mountains and the rapids pick up as you dodge arrows and galloping horses on the sides of the boat ridden by bandits.
WesternRvierfinale%20copy_zpsubd7oiex.png

Scene 4 - A Shawman is seen standing on the edge of the mountain. Waving his arms and raising his staff he says: "Water Spirits, reverse the river!". He continues in another language as the river gains water and begins to flood (from a hidden tank to the side). You can see one of the large oil drills in the distance. Your raft turns to the right as you approach a small drop.

Scene 5 - As you dive down the rapids, you realize that the river is shifting to the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad, with a near collision in sight! Luckily, you swerve out of the way in time as you hear the sound of a train whistle to your left. You breeze past it, narrowly missing the railroad, and curve around a bend in the river.

Scene 6 - As you turn along the river, you heard the sound of Native American war drums in the distance along with gunfire and horses galloping to try and reach your boat. You careen around the corner and approach another drop.
10818360_1005921899423309_2735119712313047514_o.jpg

Scene 7 - After going through another small drop in the rapids, in front of you there is an explosion caused by the bandits use of dynamite. A fire begins, and your future is looking grim. Nevertheless, the Shawman again calls the Water Spirits "Water Spirits, extinguish the flame!". He again changes language as a splash of water puts the fire out. Once the fire is out, you approach a small town, on the outskirts of Rocky Ridge.
1979747_1005921852756647_727150058288937716_n.jpg

Scene 8 - As the raft turns again you catch a glimpse at Thunder Mountain in the distance. The rapids begin to slow down as you pass a jailhouse, and you see the bandits being handcuffed by the sheriff.

Scene 9 - The river becomes very calm. As the bandits retreat, the Native Americans can be seen living peacefully, with Shawman watching at the village's end. You see the town slowly approach as the ride comes to an end.

Scene 10 - Unload at a trade raft maintenance area near Rocky Ridge where guests disembark.

Notes:

- Originally designed for a project in the Sorcerer's Apprentice Season 3 -- I really liked the concept of it as a whole. The execution of this project was another story, but in this new Frontierland, it really blended in well with Tumbleweed and also the new designs Red has for Thunder Mesa. Adding in some more descriptions, and some more art that Red had done, really adds to the project and creates a more in-depth look at what the attraction would be like.
