Howdy good Folks,
Today see's us arrive at Friday the Thirteenth. And it is national Defy Superstition Day.So.

Do you have any superstitions about Disney ?
Is there something that you have to do or your trip won't go right ?

Cheers for your answers

There's a seating area with built-in benches on the walkway from the Magic Kingdom hub to Tomorrowland where I pause and pay respects to my late mother. Her last trip to Disney World was in 2004, and on the last night of our trip, she and my Dad slow-danced together in that spot to the music that accompanied the fireworks, as my sister and I and our husbands sat around them. Next to home, Disney World was her favorite place on earth, and that dance somehow represents for me all of the freedom and joy that Disney trips always brought out in our family. I love to revisit that spot and remember those memories, and if I don't, I feel I've somehow "left Mom out of the trip."

I don't need the 13th on a Friday to be super stitch ous..( Get it ;) ) I have OCD...I do not touch a single alcoholic drink until our plane is in the air, then it's a full bottle of champagne between me & Mrs Hatter. When we arrive at PORS on our first day,we toss our dimes into the Sassagoula river and make our wishes..The first drink that I fill in my refillable mug is always Barqs Root Beer..I always buy a MCB for my first nights snack when we are ready for snooze land...We always visit MK on our first day,and it's usually in the evening..Casey's a must for our traditional Dogs & Fries..Heres our crazy stuff..We never wash or shower till the morning.( After MK the pixie dust is still in our eyes & hair.)..

We need time for things to happen.
I don't do anything superstition wise.

I don't really believe in them for the most part...not really...uhm...

FOR THE RECORD however - for Italians "13" is considered a lucky number.

Today is Friday the 13th --

  • It's my wife's 50th Birthday (We're going to surprise her with a little party at our favorite local restaurant)
  • We are EXACTLY 13 days away from our WDW vacation.

Hmm...pretty lucky I'd say...IF you believe in that sorta thing...................

This is one of the sweetest things I've ever heard :)

On a family trip in June 2005 we were all supposed to meet so we could watch Fantasmic but it was raining and I guess it was decided we would do it next trip. My brother passed away a year later before we had another family trip and I still haven’t been able to watch Fantasmic, I take it as a sign I’m not supposed to see it.

There are no "stupidstitions" ;) for us when it comes to a WDW trip. Although, of course, like most folks, we have several things we always try do do at least once each trip, like ice cream at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, a hot dog at Casey's, a visit to Club Cool, etc. :)

Now, as far as Friday the 13th goes...
I once broke my leg on a Friday the 13th. Guess how old I was? Yep, you guessed it. No joke.
