Pre-Trip Keeping My Fingers Crossed for June 2016

It's time to pull out the planning binder again!!

As of right now, we have:

"We" is me, Amy, my husband,Brian, and our three kids, Logan, Lily, and Owen. Here we are from the last trip we all took together in October 2011:

We have all been since then, just not at the same time!
Owen and I went with my mom in Dec. 2012.

And Brian and I went for my 40th birthday in November 2013.

Then the kids and I went to the parks and on a cruise in June 2014 with my parents and my brother's family.

And finally, Brian and I went on a cruise and to MK last October.

We've had a lot of upheaval recently, so we are not 100% sure we will be taking this trip, but I am being optimistic at this point!! However, we are not telling the kids until we know for sure. It is killing me to not be able to openly plan this trip!!
We have booked a 5 person room at Caribbean Beach Resort June 3-11, 2016. Brian and I honeymooned in the Jamaica section back in 1998, and we are hoping to stay there again!

I know there is a lot of hate for CBR on here, but we loved it on our honeymoon and Owen and I loved the pirate rooms on our 2012 trip, so I am really excited that they finally have rooms that have queen sized beds and sleep 5!! I figure we will take advantage this time, as next time we go we will need more than 1 bathroom, and Owen will be too big to sleep in the murphy bed!

We are obviously too far out to have any set plans yet, but you better believe that I already have the whole trip planned out in my head!!! We are going to spend our arrival day at the pool, hopefully have dinner at 'Ohana, and spend the evening at Downtown Disney/Disney Springs. We will have 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, 1 day at AK, 1 day at DHS, and go to Typhoon Lagoon the remaining day during the week with a possible evening in MK. I still haven't decided how to spend departure day. A lot will depend on the timing of our flight. We will likely have breakfast at 'Ohana, then do some miniature golfing before returning to the airport, but we may hit a park if time allows. Dining plans include: 'Ohana (breakfast and dinner), Crystal Palace breakfast, Akershus breakfast, Garden Grill dinner, Tusker House breakfast, Mama Melrose Fantasmic! package, and 1900 Park Fare. I believe that we will be there during Star Wars weekends. I have no desire to fight the crowds during the weekend, but I'm hoping they will have the special dining during the week again, and I will try to schedule one or both of the character dining experiences for us. I'm also hoping to try to fit in the new Adventureland Veranda restaurant at MK. Also excited that the new night show will be open at AK. I don't really care, but Lily will be excited that the new Frozen ride should be open too.
I can't wait to share the plans with you all as they get firmed up!!

Passed another psychological milestone! Down to 199 days!!!! Now, if Disney would just post their June hours, then I could finalize our ADR want list to be ready for Dec. 5.
I know the feeling well. The days between 200 and 180 can be rough especially if hours haven't been posted yet. Good luck I hope you have some holiday things to do to pass the time, that's how I held up for June trips.

I just saw on ebay that they have Starbucks You Are Here mugs in a smaller size to use as Christmas ornaments!! That will be perfect for me, as Brian and I are not coffee drinkers, and I was just going to get them for display anyway. Now I just have to hope that they will continue to have them after the holidays, as I refuse to pay the prices that are being asked on ebay!

I would like to say how much difficulty I had preparing an itinerary for this trip! I generally have no problem knowing what park I want us to go to each day, and also what meals I want us to have when, but there are so many issues with this trip! Firstly, Disney didn't bother releasing June operating hours until 3 days ago! Then, they switched up when EMH days are at all the parks compared to this year which caused me to totally change the tentative schedule I had already made! I was also trying to keep in mind the historical gay days schedule to try to miss the big crowds in those parks. Also factoring into this is whether Soarin' will be reopened yet, whether the Frozen ride will be open yet, whether AK night time stuff will impact morning operating hours or just evening, and how many MK mornings will switch from 8am to 9am openings. Ok, enough whining, I'll just share the (as of right now) final itinerary!

Thursday, June 2 Leave Dayton at 5:30am and arrive in Orlando at 7:35am. DME to CBR. Then our plans are pretty open this day. We will have some sort of combination of swimming at CBR, mini golf, and Disney Springs. 'Ohana ADR at 5:00. This will be an early evening since we will have to leave our house no later than 3:00am!!
Friday, June 3 AK with an 8:15am ADR at Tusker House (I also scheduled a 10:10 ADR in case the park opening moves to 8am. I am hoping they will offer some sort of dining package for ROL when we get closer to time.
Saturday, June 4 DHS 11:00am Sci-Fi ADR and 4:50pm Fantasmic! package at H&V for the Spring menu. I will change Sci-Fi to breakfast if they continue to offer it.
Sunday, June 5 MK 8:05am Crystal Palace ADR (I also scheduled a 10:10 in case park opening moves to 8am) and 5:45pm BOG ADR (I'm not sure we will keep BOG, but I went ahead and scheduled it because it was available!!)
Monday, June 6 Epcot 8:00am Akershus ADR. I thought since we have 2 full days at Epcot, that this day we may take a break in the early afternoon to walk over to the Boardwalk area and play mini golf, followed by ice cream at Beaches and Cream at 3:00.
Tuesday, June 7 Blizzard Beach, then DHS 5:00pm Fantasmic! package at H&V for the summer menu. Depending on how much we enjoy the night time AK offerings vs. the H&V buffet, we may cancel this once we get there and go to AK for the night.
Wednesday, June 8 Typhoon Lagoon, then MK 5:10pm 1900 Park Fare followed by EMH at MK
Thursday, June 9 Epcot I figure we will sleep in some this day, then head to Epcot for our 11:45am Garden Grill ADR. Depending on how long the kids want to stay at Epcot, we may try to hit Disney Springs in the evening.
Friday, June 10 MK morning EMH followed by 9:55am BOG breakfast and 5:30pm Chef Mickey's
Saturday, June 11 departure day:( 9:00am 'Ohana ADR (this is a tradition for us!) The rest of the day will depend on what time our flight leaves (I can't book it until Tuesday!) If we have time, we will revisit either AK or DHS, depending on which one we go to on Tuesday evening. If we leave relatively early, we will likely play some mini golf +/- Disney Springs.

I know that seems like a lot of dining!!! We will likely not keep all of these ADRs, but I wanted to go ahead and book them while they were available! As a side note, I actually had a very good experience booking these ADRs this morning. MDE was available right at 6am and I didn't get any error codes!!

I forgot to mention the good laugh I got about the email I received at 1:30 this afternoon from Disney to remind me to schedule my ADRs! I can't figure out why these emails would not be scheduled to go out the night before your 180 days, or at least early morning the day of!

Congrats, but I have a question have you been to H&V recently?
No, we haven't been lately. We used to go for breakfast with the kids, and Brian and I went years ago for the Fantasmic! package. I have been seeing favorable reviews for the Minnie's seasonal dinners, that is why I went ahead and got those ADRs. I figure if we don't like the first one, then we will cancel the second one. I was just curious to see how different the spring and summer menus would be.

I'm hoping they've upped their game! I was not happy a couple of years ago.

I know there is lots of hate on here for it, but all of the reviews I can find since it is the seasonal thing have been good (now, I haven't looked that hard, but still!) I figure we'll try once and decide if we want to keep the second one.

THNX for the update. I'll keep my eyes on the reviews. I referred to it as Hollywood and Vile. Maybe if the reviews are good after the 1st of the year I might give it another try.

Just got caught up on your plans. Looks like you got some great ADRs. We planned in some extras when we booked, too. I can't wait to hear about ROL and the night time events at AK. It's awesome that your return flight will allow for an extra day in the parks.
