Hey Guys. My apologies if this has been posted a million times before, i did do a quick search and nothing specific came up.

Anyway, last night i downloaded a small documentary all about Animal Kingdom via iTunes called; Disney Parks: Disney's Animal Kingdom by Andy Perrot. A lot of you have probably already seen it.

I noticed something interesting near the end of the film, when talking about future aspects of the park they were talking about the possibilities of expansion etc and then at the mark 40:41 a small video of what looked like a CGI animation of the Magma Worm from Journey to the Centre of the Earth suddenly came up.

What i find interesting is the release date of this film (1st June 2010) unless its an old film just recently released via iTunes (which could be the case) it can't be too old because there's a making of Everest thrown in too...

i know that there's always been speculation of the ride maybe popping up in Animal Kingdom. But does this make it a possibility? i see no other reason as to why they would show an animation for a character based in another park???

EDIT - tried to upload a screen cap from the film.

Ah, I remember seeing this too but I brushed it off due to the insiders saying it was not going to happen (but that was then). I hope Journey has a place in DAK's future, but I doubt a lava monster will be the ride's star. Perhaps a dragon?

I'll keep my fingers crossed (have been for years now...)

i just find it odd that it shown up in that tiny clip, especially so recently too. i really hope something like mysterious island turns up in Animal Kingdom, it looks so amazing. what with all the water in the area, it would be interesting if a world of colour type show was implemented into it too...

This was not a new show, it is a older Travel Channel show about Animal Kingdom. The reason it is listed as 2010 is they put it out on DVD at that time. I want to say this is one of the early ones. JttCoE would be great and was talked about years before AK opened, will it make it someday? Who knows, but it is not coming anytime soon. That footage is just like the old walking dino box footage from some of the early WDW specials on the travel channel, just there to get people talking and excited!

I think some things are set-up , but never happen, especially if the movie does not do too well. A short time after it first opened there was a rumor of a ________ Tracy ride going into DHS, even to the point that it was noted in the Burnham's guide for that year. Guess what? Still not there.

It appears more and more that everything is delayed pending the resolution of the Blackstone/Uni drama.

If it isn't under construction it may be on hold.

Plus Uni is announcing something new soon. :)

Isn't there a JttCotE attraction in Tokyo DisneySea? I'll have to go look but off the top of my head I'm thinking there is or something similar...

**edit**Nevermind. Think I was thinking of Stormrider. Lol!

no they have the JttCotE attraction in Tokyo, that is where the footage was from.

Well it really could just be some filler footage they got to add into a portion of the show, but it's likely that it was simply an attraction in development that never came to reality. There's always the possibility of a new attraction, considering the age of the footage though I wouldn't count on it.

Not bad, 11 posts before this went to a BK thread! The video is not a sign of anything, it is a old video back when I am sure they were hoping that JttCotE would be the next big thing for AK. I want to say that might have been before EE??? But it is not anything other then the same old same old.

Lol, I know that. Hence the ":lookaroun". This isn't happening, and neither is BK.

I don't think it's gonna happen. There is currently a second film in the works based off the first one (oddly enough dubbed Journey 2: Mysterious Island; Mysterious Island being the name of the land that houses the Japan version of the ride and long rumored land title for DAK). But it's being made via totally separate film studio. Doesn't look great. :(

Martin or Lee can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the attraction that was coming to AK was going to be called JTTCOTE or MI. It was going to be a hybrid of BK/MI; same ride, basically, but theme, name and story would be totally different.

^ Indeed. From what I know, the version proposed as part of the Potter offensive was the same ride, same layout as JTTCOTE but in a significantly different show building and with a different theme. Possibly with no lava monster.

I would assume that the Lava Monster would have been replaced with another mythical animal?

Of course. The whole time I was reading this I was thinking about the central animal of the ride and how the lava monster is retarded. There are plenty of mythical creatures to base rides around, but come on a lava monster in Animal Kingdom!?
