January 2015 Trip Planning / When to look for deals?

Just checked and we are 279 days out from our latest trip!

After our honeymoon we decided that we wanted to stay on the monorail at least once so saved up and booked GF.

We've had luck in the last two times we've gone to WDW were early July and early February so didn't have to fight crowds much. This time with the way work is going we are trying the end of January and hoping we will after the marathon weekend craziness and hopefully before the cheerleading nationals and Brazil tour groups that we found out go the first part of February.

Outside of the 180 days for booking a nice dinner one night and character breakfast (Our DD will probably have her head explode when she 'meets' doc mcstuffin and Jake the neverland pirate) does anyone know when we should be on the lookout if they do that early lull deal like they've run in the past?

We are going in Jan 2015 as well :)

I will latch onto this thread to see what I can learn :)

Keep your fingers crossed with us!

We are hoping that they will do a similar 20-30% off deal. That is what we got when we did Feb 2 years ago, but economy was in different shape then. Our other disney friends have told us that there might not be a deal, but we've been saving so any discounts would be found money for Dole Whip and vinylmations!

I think since it is slower that time of year they should offer something :)

Thanks for the link!

It looks like we could get anything from 5-35% off. What is the stay/play/dine? Free dining plan?
Not exactly. It's an offer that discounts each component of a Magic Your Way package (tickets, room, dining plan). I don't think Disney releases what the exact savings % is, but it is cheaper. However, if you're staying at Grand Floridian, a hefty room discount may be of better value to you, so you'll have to crunch numbers when it's time!
