Trip Report It's Two, Two, TWO Trips in One! *COMPLETED*

Title reference for those of you younger than dirt ~

Got it? Good!

This trip report is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is a picture of me and my significant other.

I invite you, if you dare, to follow along on a lengthy adventure that includes three resorts, lots of flowers, exotic food and a Fruber (a what?) Because this report travels directly to.........the Tuvalu Zone.

My goal is to take time to watch the street performers in HS this year!
You won't regret it!

Love that you stayed at all star music, thats where we are staying on our next trip (sadly not until next Oct) and I've been scouring the internet looking for pictures so was great to see some on this trip report!
Glad to help! As I mentioned we were highly pleased with our short stay at ASMu.

Following along. I am impressed by the snack offering at the club level. Maybe I can convince the DH that we would actually save money by staying club level. We wouldn't need ADR's .
Welcome!

once again, I'm late to the party, but I'm here! can't wait for more!
More coming up :cat:

@Tuvalu its so hard to keep up with all your reports - maybe you should start one and just keep it going all year - or maybe a quick report of what you do when you're not there would mean it would be easier to follow along. :) I think the next TR title - is "the trip that never ends"
My 'real life' report would probably bore you to tears. ;) But I love your title suggestion for a future WDW report!

Noooo, we need details for those of us who can't go month after month! (I'm one to talk, I know.) :p
Kettle, this is Pot!

It doesn't work. I have one going like that with several trips one after the other, and people don't generally like it. I have to go back and put in a table of contents in the beginning LOL.
Though your report has become quite the novel, I like it!!

No shame in that whatsoever. You paid for it!
So that means I would be still shame-free if I did it again later in the week? :cautious:

Thursday, May 4

Our plan was to be at MK at opening time. First we had breakfast in the lounge. As it had been at snack and appetizer times, there were more choices on the buffet. A European-style breakfast of meat and cheese was a nice new addition.

IMG_6615.JPG

There were plenty of pastries to choose from.
IMG_6614.JPG

There were four cold cereals (not pictured) as well as oatmeal, which was my choice.
IMG_6616.JPG

You know the wonderful POG (pineapple, orange, guava) juice (aka "Stitch Juice" and "Jungle Juice") that everyone raves about? The lounge offers it all day long ~ just not at breakfast! o_O Since this was not my first rodeo, I remembered to get a cupful of POG juice last night and stored it in our fridge to have with my breakfast.

Except I forgot to bring it with me and had to go back to the room to get it.

When we finished we headed for the monorail. I expected having the security screening on the platform to slow things down but it really didn't.
IMG_6617.JPG

For those who aren't aware, all passengers aboard the monorail have been screened before arriving at MK. The Contemporary screening is done on the 4th floor Concourse and the GF is on the outdoor platform (like at Poly). So imagine our surprise when we saw these women get off the monorail dressed like this ~
IMG_6636.PNG

Disney policy forbids adults dressing in costume, except during MNSSHP. And I am not even sure these costumes would be permitted during a party since the dresses are nearly exact replicas of Belle and Cinderella. Both women were also wearing tiaras. Grandma was "Belle" and adult daughter was "Cinderella". With them was a non-costumed dad carrying three year old "Gaston"....who was adorable....that I did not photograph.

I was stunned that these women were not turned away from boarding the monorail and I could not imagine they would be allowed into MK dressed like that. So I motioned to Woody to hang back and watch.

Sure enough when they got to the turnstiles a "suit" was called over and denied them entry.
IMG_6619.JPG

We watched the "suit" escort them to Guest Relations and the restroom. The women did not put up any sort of fuss and I am fairly certain they knew exactly what they were doing as dad looks to be holding a garment bag with a change of clothes.

It just boggles my mind that those two adult women would dress up like that. Obviously, they wanted attention, but what kind of attention did they think they'd receive?

Once inside the park we were greeted by this sad sight.

IMG_6621.JPG

But just down the block was a smiling CM displaying the various breakfast items available inside the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. There's a kitchen sink filled with cereal. You can even get a donut sundae! (You'll need to try it, @Longers!)
IMG_6622.JPG

Obligatory morning castle shot. Cause there can never be too many!
IMG_6623.JPG

These "old-timey" topiaries remind me of my childhood.
IMG_6624.JPG

Hopefully my homage to Pooh is more tasteful than the "Belle" and "Cinderella" costumes.

We went for a Hunny pot ride.

Due to my motion sensivity I usually request sitting in the front of 7DMT. I took a gamble last month when I let fate determine where Em and I would sit. We were assigned the last car and the swaying side-to-side motion of the car did not bother me as much as I'd feared. And the ride felt faster! So I rolled the dice again today and lo and behold Woody and I got the last car!

IMG_7331.JPG

Woody agreed the ride is more thrilling in the back.

Where in the world is this?
IMG_6632.JPG

If you guessed the restrooms by Gaston's Tavern, you're right! Notice the three different types of roofing and all the other "textures" in this small area. It's not just the Tangled toilets that have meticulous attention to detail!

On the way to our next attraction we were surprised by this little guy.

Woody and I then ventured into Tomorrowland. While he's no PUSH the talking trash can, iCan is still a neat robot. Kids were captivated by him.

IMG_6634.JPG

IMG_6633.JPG

(Woody figured out iCan moves via a hover board.)

Wait times were significantly lower than they were last month. Low enough for us to wait standby here ~
IMG_6638.JPG

While I was no Galactic Hero, I did beat Woody. Note the concentration in my face.

IMG_7333.JPG

Oops, sorry. That wasn't my concentration after all.

This was:

A classic Tuvalu pose

Super late to the TR but I am in! I still need to finish your last report, but I didn't want to fall too far behind on this one. One more week of school and I will be able to devote more time to reading TRs :joyfull:!
So jealous of your trips with your hubby. Hoping that will be what my future retirement looks like.
Club level food offerings look amazing!
I really need to plan a trip where we have some relaxation filled days.

When I was there last week, at least half of that hideous cover was removed -- only the right-hand side was remaining. I realize that maintenance needs to be done from time to time; but I did feel bad for guests who had planned to take that long photo shot from the beginning of Main Street, to the castle. The scrim really stood out like a sore thumb; I was surprised at how much it affected the view. I assume it will probably be gone by the holiday weekend.

Persevere through your last week and have a relaxing summer! Hopefully you and your hubs can take some slow-paced Disney vacays in the future. :)

Typically the scrims are designed to match the building; I agree that this was an eyesore!

"Let's go ride TTA!" I chirped.
I didn't think it would require an awkward-angle climb since the escalator is STILL NOT WORKING!! (Really Disney, at minimum it has been over a month. I bet a call to Angie's List could get a repairman out to fix it pronto!)

IMG_6640.JPG

Our next FP required a bit of walking to get there. We decided cutting across the hub would be the fastest route.

IMG_6641.JPG

(Personally I think any more than two mortals....unless one is a small child....is way too close for comfort.)

Playful spooks caused us to be stopped in front of this casket for several minutes.

We decided on Pecos Bills for lunch. I really like their chicken nachos and the 20% AP discount makes it even more attractive to dine there.

Woody ordered a burger, a decision he ended up regretting (over-cooked patty and stale bun). When I offered him the remaining half of my nachos he really regretted his burger decision....he discovered just how yummy the chicken nachos are!

IMG_6647.JPG

As we ate, we watched a robbery occur before our very eyes. Not a gun-toting one like you'd find in the Wild West but a robbery just the same. And the thieves did not wear black hats or bandanna face masks. Mom and Dad wore Mickey shirts and ears.

A family of seven ~ Dad, Mom, 4 kids and a baby ~ plopped themselves down at two tables beside us, kids at one table, parents at another and baby in a stroller. Dad left while Mom reached into the giant stroller bag and handed out Lunchables** to the 4 kids. Dad returned with 6 small "free" cups of water that Disney provides on request. Mom pulled out two containers of what looked to be salad, one for her and one for Dad. Then Mom and Dad each took a turn at the toppings bar, filling up three containers of fixins which they dumped on their salads.

Yes, Disney allows food to be brought into the park. But that food should not be consumed at tables designed for paying customers ~ just as the food at the toppings bar is for paying customers. Pecos Bills is a business, not a free-for-all. This family stole two tables and food. And their behavior taught their children that this is okay.

** FYI, "Lunchables" auto-corrected to "Lunch a lesbian". :jawdrop: :joyfull:
