Well, like I implied, I don't know what exactly is going on, save for that I don't recall any safety concerns with the area. But yeah, if nothing else comes in, it's a monetary decision. Which is curious to me, because I always thought the water parks were fairly profitable....

This is EXTREMELY disappointing. I had to use caps there, I just had to. Unless this is closing in order to build a bigger, better, sharkier attraction, unlikely, I'll be seriously outraged.

I'm very sad it's possibly closing as I love this. If they're doing this to maybe expand the park then I can understand it. If not, then this will be very upsetting. Let's be honest, in the big scheme of things it can't cost too much to maintain and operate can it?

This is such sad news! I was only just writing about how much I love this attraction in my TR! it's so unique and is a big part of why we visit TL I just can't see a reason for it, surely it's not that costly to run? so bummed out about this.

It's been running for 20+ years without incident, if there were safety concerns I think we'd know about it by now.

Perhaps the space is needed for additional FastPass+ kiosks, a DVC booth or an Olaf meet and greet location

If they add more slides than I am cool with it. Crush n Gusher is one of my favorite rides at Disney. Seems like water park rides are getting more advance, so hopefully we will see something new. Although,you think someone would have mentioned something by now if a new attraction was in the works.

After experiencing this attraction as a kid, I became a snorkel fanatic! Since then I have visited reefs all over the world to satisfy my hunger. It was the Shark Reef that gave me my wonder about the oceans and exploring. I can't help but think of how many kids may never have the same chance for a life changing experience like I did. I really hope this isn't true...

More body slides or tube rides aren't a substitute for Shark Reef. I don't think people go to Shark Reef just because the lines are too long at Crush 'n Gusher.

I suspect the kiosk will be turned into a new food location, and the paved over reef will either be a new quick service, or just more space for sun loungers.

How many people do you meet, in day to day life, who can legitimately say they've swam with sharks? That's a pretty amazing thing for anyone to say (you don't have to tell people how big they are!) and for kids it's an absolutely mind-blowing thing to be able to claim.

Another wonderful benefit of MyMagic+ budget overruns presumably. Losing stuff like this is the price we've paid for MagicBands.

This may just be my 'straw that broke the camels back' moment. Unless Disney announces some super amazing plans that offset ALL OF THESE CUTS in the near future, I will be cutting my spending just like they are cutting theirs. I'm voting with my wallet. No more cuts Disney!
