its great they have parks all over the world but is that hampering them when trying to keep the USA parks current. are they in this massive catch up mode because of too many interests they need to serve? At one time the parks and their movies were the main focus now being a huge entertainment giant where do the parks sit in priority order? Are the parks number one priority?

Shareholders and profitability are their priority. Yes, yes I know corporations in business for profitability is not a sin blah, blah blah.

Bottom line is they would rather court new business from South America and Europe who have never been than cater to the 9th to 15th time visitor who sees the man behind the curtain.

The Parks are not the Number One priority. ESPN and the cable networks are as thats where most of the revenue and profits come from.

PhotoDave is right on the money. ESPN is their cash cow and where a lot if the profit come from each year. Just like the parks, they are more and more competition each year with different companies starting their own sports network. ( FOX Sports to name one )
Also, they have a problem going on with households cutting the cable wire.

No, of the four international resorts Disney only has a majority interest in Disneyland Paris. The Chinese parks are majority owned by the local government and Disney has no stake in Tokyo Disney Resort.

Amen.

Raise your hand if you'd like to see a new park in Brazil!
That is a huge assumption. Disney expected that, given the larger number of British visitors to Walt Disney World, they'd flock to Euro Disney in droves and it just didn't quite work out that way because visiting Walt Disney World wasn't just about the Disney name and parks.

^^^ actually... That's a great point.

We rented a house on family business this July in Champions Gate area in Davenport within a gated community called West Haven - we were the only customers in the Champion's Gate Publix who weren't from the UK. It was the same at the Walgreens and an awesome little Italian restaurant near the Publix.

The people we rented from were from the UK and along with a good number of people we encountered in our gated community.

Everyone was super polite, properties were clean and very nice.

These folks just don't vacation at Disney - many own real estate in the area.
