How promptly do the parks close at closing time?

We are going to UO the last two weeks of August. The parks close at 8:00 most nights, which is right around sunset time. We have never been at either US or IOA at night, nor have we stayed at either til closing.

What happens at closing time? Are you ushered out quickly? Will they let you hop on one more ride. Can you ride if you are already on a line? Thanks for any input.

I think it is the same as WDW. I think they close lines in advance of closing, anyone in queue can ride, often until after closing time. Once 'closed' you can't get on rides if not already in queue, shops stay open after closing, probably minimum one hour, they want you in there. I doubt you'd get ushered out unless you are taking huge amounts of time, which is unlikely.

The only time you are somewhat hurried out is for stuff like HHN, when the park has to reopen quickly
