How likely to keep same room?

Have reservations at via a travel agent for the Wine and Dine 1/2. We have pretty much decided that we want to add an extra night. I'm fairly positive we would get a better rate with my AP discount.

The extra night would be our 1st night.

If we can't stay in the same room will they move our luggage for us?

No. You will need to leave your luggage with Bell Services (you can take it down yourself or call for assistance). When your new room is ready, you can either retrieve your luggage from Bell Services and take it to your room or call once you are in your room to have it delivered.

She said no because it's a runDisney package.
I would have her run the numbers without the RunDisney package. Unless things have changed, the discounts for the RunDisney package are pretty minimal if anything at all. When I was a TA it was almost always less expensive to book the room separately under a GP, Florida resident or AP rate and then just register for the race separately.

Even though I bought my bib through her? It was the only way I could get one...I know it'll be cheaper with the AP discount...

This was her response.
All the runDisney packages are exclusive and are one price for everyone (with or without an annual pass) because of their high demand.

Things might have changed since I was doing it, but at that time you could always purchase your bib separately. No room reservations were required. I would often book my clients under the marathon rate to begin with, but would almost always switch them when the other rates came out.

Things have definitely change Master Yoda.

Now if you book your bib through a TA you are booking it as a full package unless they are selling just bibs (few and far between now with TAs thanks to Disney's requirements of x amount of rooms and x amount of tickets). If you cancel the room they can cancel the bib and sell it to someone else. This is why some TAs end up with bibs so close to the race even though it is sold out because people don't want the full package just the bib.

Which runDisney TA did you go through?

Possibly. However this is a anniversary year so highly unlikely. You could try some run groups as well. I know mine was given a few but we have already sold them all. Even running groups had to guarantee at least 5 2 night rooms booked. You might try Jim Stone. I just usually search his name and runDisney and the right TA will come up. He usually has bibs but like I said anniversary year means he may even be out.

Speaking as a former resorts CM, they generally will do everything in their power to keep you in the same room if the two reservation are booked for exactly the same category unless there is physically something that makes it impossible.
