Hollywood and Vine - Lunch vs Dinner - can't decide

Going to WDW next month with daughter and need to decide between lunch and dinner at Hollywood and Vine .

Lunch would be with Disney Junior characters and dinner with Minnie Mouse, etc. She's at the age where she still likes all of those.

I'm leaning towards dinner, but note lunch is described as "Play and Dine" which is making me wonder.

Question is, does anybody know what the "Play" part of that is? Is it actually an interactive thing or just a normal character lunch?

They switched this up and the Disney Jr characters are only there for breakfast. Both dinner and lunch are Minnie etc. Generally the difference between dinner and lunch at buffets, if there is any difference at all, is dinner will sometimes have a meat carver cutting a couple choices where as lunch will not. Not sure if that is the case at Hollywood and Vine. YOu have to compare the menus to see.

The play and dine just meant they encouraged the children, at regular intervals, to get up and dance or jump around etc with some cast members when are directing the festivities. You could simply ignore the whole thing and continue on eating if you wished or children could get up and join it. Their choice, no pressure, etc.

May 14th is the first day for Minnie and the gang at lunch, up until that point it will still be Disney Jr for breakfast and lunch. :)
