History: Did you used to NOT be able to see wait times outside of Florida?

I told someone that one of the benefits of using a 3rd party app is so that you can see the wait times, when your phone's GPS shows you as outside of WDW. Low and behold, my WDW newb I was educating said, "What are you talking about? It shows the wait times, right here!"

Embarrassed. I thought that the MDE mobile app used to only show you wait time while at WDW and not outside of the area.

Is my memory bad or was this the way it used to be?

I believe it was the app prior to MDE that had that restriction

Yeah, the app prior to MDE, only provided wait times when you were in the park. Outside of that, it wouldn't show you accurate waits.

Yes that it's true. There was also an update that came out a few months ago that made it GPS aware only. People complained and they reverted it back after a couple of weeks.

I thought so. But when I checked again it had changed back. I thought I was losing my mind.
