HELP! 4 Adults and 1 Child

If you want a single room, I'd recommend the moderate resorts that have standard rooms that sleep 5 -- with 2 queen beds and a fold-down Murphy bed that is perfect for a child. These include Port Orleans Riverside (my family has stayed here and loved it, so that would be my personal recommendation!) and Caribbean Beach Resort (where we'll be staying in November, as a party of 5, ourselves). There is a slight extra charge per adult, per night for anything more than two adults in the room, but it's a bargain compared with the cost of getting a second room. Also, in our experience, the privacy screens/doors the moderates have in front of the sink area, as well as the fact that the bathroom is divided and that 2 sinks are offered (at PORS and CBR, anyway), means that even if you have multiple adults in the same room, you don't have to be stepping all over each other as you get ready in the morning. The most challenging thing about sharing the space will be finding room for everyone's clothes if you have an "overpacker" in the group, as all you'll have to work with in a Murphy bed room is a couple of drawers under the bed, plus the open closet area with a large bar for hanging clothes. (The sink vanities have plenty of storage.) It hasn't been a problem for us with up to 3 adults and 2 kids in one room, but we are light packers and nobody is a bathroom/sink hog.

You didn't mention if you are on a budget, but if not, you could consider requesting two adjoining standard rooms at a moderate, or if you prefer a room at a deluxe resort, most of them have 5-person "2 queens + Murphy bed" rooms as well.

If you need more space and don't mind using fold-outs, you could consider family suites at Art of Animation (1 master bedroom sleeping 2, fold-out sofa in living area sleeping 2, fold-down dining table sleeping 2) and All Star Music (1 master bedroom sleeping 2, fold-out sofa and chair in living area) or the cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort (1 bedroom with a queen bed and 2 bunk beds, plus fold-out queen sofa in living area).

More discussion here (on Disney's website, so naturally it mentions only the more expensive options and doesn't mention the moderate resorts with rooms for 5): https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/planning-guides/in-depth-advice/groups/

Here's a sample of the floor plans in the 5-person rooms at the moderates:
