I read some time ago that the MK Haunted Mansion would be getting the Nughtmare Before Christmas overlay this year. Can anyone confirm or deny this info?

Not by any of my hearing.

At one time there had been tentative plans but the copies of props from DLs made for it were sent to Tokyo's Haunted Mansion.

It's been a number of years since I've read that here. Not likely ever happening as WDW frowns upon temporary overlays that close the attraction.

To be fair, I would pay $100 for this. Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite rides and to be able to spend Halloween in there would be amazing.

No. I was told on The Keys to the Kingdom tour that you would never see the overlay at WDW because of the expectations of many international tourists. The majority of visits at DL, OTOH, is from APs, so they do overlays to keep their interest. See HM and SM.

NBC won't come to WDW. They would have to close down the Mansion for a good length of time on both sides of operating to complete the overlay. Disney needs rides like this open as much as possible.

Not happening thankfully because it deserves more than an overlay. It deserves its own ride at this point. Really more than its own ride. Holloween town should be built with a dark ride to be the centerpiece of a new holloween extra ticketed event at the Studios. But obviously that would make too much sense.

Overlay or not, it doesn't stop Disney from selling NBC in at least 2 out of 4 parks + Disney Springs. So there might, just might, be an audience for it somewhere...

I think it's something DL can keep. BUT if there is any imagineers lurking, I'd love a permanent stand alone ride.
