I'm shocked. SHOCKED I tell you!
Hold out a little hope as it's not open yet. Set dressing can go in pretty quickly and is always the last thing to be done.

First Look: Collector’s Fortress Arrives at Disney California Adventure Park
by Erin Glover, Editorial Content Director, Disneyland Resort
Throughout the past few months, a mysterious new presence has been emerging at Disney California Adventure park, and today we have your first look at The Collector’s Fortress. This enigmatic building is home to the soon-to-be-unveiled Tivan Collection, where guests will view the rare items in Taneleer Tivan’s extensive holdings, including his newest acquisitions: the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The fortress shimmers with colorful and sparkling details; pipes cross and climb the exterior, carrying the organic matter the Tivan Group has mined to power the massive generator that powers the entire building, keeping every cage locked and the valuable collection secure. Rising and falling gantry lifts peek out of doors exposed through the corroded, burnt metal, and it even looks as if the structure may have taken laser fire and blasts. Has someone tried to attack the facility?
Explore The Collector’s Fortress yourself when Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! opens May 27 at Disney California Adventure park.
so freaking cool. i cannot wait!
I sure hope so. No one in their right mind would purposely make a building look like that.
I'm not sure how recent this development is, it wasn't a good sign when the Marvel expansion apparently moved from the backlot to the expansion pad behind Hollywoodland.
She must mean First Look for non Nerds? Lol. My favorite line is "Has someone tried to attack the facility?" Ummm No. You mean the lightning damage that wasn't rethemed?
I like that the pipes carry 'organic matter'
So we can add Sewage Treatment Plant to things the Tower is modeled after.
It's all so... Magical.
I'm starting to think his whole thing was cooked up by a Universal mole.
So basically Rocket attacked the building with the Milano and blasted away the building's up floors allowing a way for the Guardians to escape. Why does he need us?
He doesn't. He's an @$$hole.
Here is a Sewage Treatment Plant. Now this would make an interesting attraction.
Is it just me or does this look like the aerial view of the Falcon attraction?
So that's how they are explaining away the bits of the ride that are left over from the "lighting blast" on the original TOT... Saying someone tried attacking the building in the past.
WDI substituting a convoluted backstory for theme...
I really couldn't help but laugh at that article. I actually like Erin Glover, but girl, the building certainly doesn't "shimmer" and "sparkle." I don't see anything on the building that looks like burnt metal, and the building was supposed to have been attacked? I can't tell.
You don't see all the serated edges from TOT where the top floors crumbled away from lightning that they just left?
Leaving the broken and burned marks on was intentional...
That would totally be something he would do.
Something that has been bothering me.....
MiceChat claims the "Phalic" design is an F U to management for making them create this.
So, sure, management said create a GOTG attraction on this building.
Did they also tell them how to design it to look? Did they tell them what it was supposed to look like? The design is totally on the Imagineers, and if they don't like it, then the F U is on them.
