It wasn't RCI that imposed the limits...it was DVC. RCI does have some sketchy resorts in its portfolio and DVC always argued that they wanted to steer its members to the highest-quality locations. They also did some geographic blocking--not allowing trades into other Orlando-area properties, HHI, etc.

If members do gain increased RCI access, it's because DVC is allowing it.

OK. That makes more sense. There are some less desirable places available through RCI so it makes some sense to be selective. We only ever traded in for RCI gold crown resorts which is still over 1,000 of their resorts available.

Was it not available for you? We are about to purchase points for Grand Floridian (tomorrow) and was hoping to stay in November. Am I just dreaming showing my DVC inexperience?

Book it right away. As an owner you can book at 11 months. At the 7 month mark owners at other DVC resorts will be able to book too. You have a much better shot at getting a room before you hit the 7 month mark.
