Geek Alert, Old Mine Train finds new home

Great news, Disney has agreed to donate the old Mine Train that was used for decoration after the ride closed along the Rivers of America to the Carolwood Foundation for restoration,and then for display at Walt's Barn... Glad to see a piece of History saved,especially from a ride I loved as a kid.

It's about time. My buddy volunteers at the barn every Sunday and they've been trying to get the train for some time now.

Wonderful news! The Mine Train was a big part of my childhood DL visits, and later I loved seeing the tribute on the riverbank. Why the heck they couldn't find a place to display one of the engines somewhere on Big Thunder is a mystery to me.
