Does anyone remember the former DTD Gourmet Pantry that was around until around till the turn of the new millenium?
It was a great little store with staples for DTD resorts (that are now gone with kitchens)the Original Tree Houses and the first of the DVCs along with quick in resort room meals and snacks. Earl now is in that space now and as much of a fan as I am of Earl, so many other retails have come and gone that I miss the Gourmet Pantry.
They also sold wine by the bottle, not cheap, but a reasonable alternative to a bar/lounge. The store had breads, lunch meats, cheeses, can goods, breakfast food, eggs, pints of quality ice cream, milk, juices and all sorts of quality coffee. They also sold souvenir food items. The general food items without most fresh fruits or meats. They also had a grab and go section where you could grab a sandwich and sit at the tables by the lake. It was not overly expensive but more than a typical grocery store but oh so convenient.
It was charming plus convenient, a Down Town Disney of yesteryear.
