Sad news this morning--actor, Florence Henderson passed away at the age of 82. She had a long career and was well known. Many of us remember her from portraying the mother in the Brady Bunch. May she RIP.

Sad news. I, too, watched The Brady Bunch when it was in Prime Time.


All of these artists and actors from my childhood passing this year has made me feel really old.

Back in the early days of DHS (when it was MGM), they used to have a celebrity-of-the-day in a motorcade parade. It seemed that no matter when we went, the celebrity was either Florence Henderson or John Davidson, or occasionally both. It happened so often that my son thought they were actually cast members there.
RIP Florence - you've earned your ears!

I didn't realize that she was 82 already or ill. Too bad. I remember saw The Brady Bunch for the first time on Nick at Night in the 90s and loved it as a kid. She was such an iconic TV mom.

Coincidentally, right now, playing in the background is a rerun of Fantasy Island from 1981. Florence was one of that weeks guests on the show.
