Day 4 At Sea

Not so much of an early start to today and we headed up to Cabanas for breakfast.

We both tried eggs benedict for the first time and both liked it.we then headed of on a long tour of the boat to deliver the Fish Extender gifts.

Once we had hiked miles getting all the rooms sorted we headed to the Walt Disney theater for the “family” version of the Pete Matthews show. This man is hilarious and even the toned down version was very close to the mark a lot of times.Once we had recovered we went walking again and delivered all of our magnets for that exchange.

After this it was dinner time and as we had decided not to partake in formal night we headed up to cabanas for eats. The restaurant changes into full service for the evening and takes a few items from each of the signature ones. We chose a window table to watch the north sea pass by.After diner we retired for the night due to an early start in the morning.

We boarded and swiftly esconced ourselves right at the front cameras ready and off we went.we headed out of the port area and into the open sea before bearing North and heading off to our first Fjord. The scenery was amazing and you could see the morning mists shrouding the hills and mountains we were headed towards.

We continued up the Fjord at a slower pace until we found ourselves at the base of pulpit rock. This overhang stands over 600 ft above the waters below and is accessable only by hiking for over and hour up narrow rocky paths.

We turned around at this point and headed back the way we came to see some goats that are put out to graze on some of the lower grassy parts of the cliffs.we came to a fissure in the cliffs and the captain took the boat right up to the face.He the proceeded to turn the boat around and back it in even closer. It was incredible seeing the height of the cliffs up so close.

The captain backed the boat right into this small gap.

We then docked at a small building and beach area to try some traditional Norwegian waffles (Lapper). Served with jam and sour cream and coffee. It was delicious. After eating and photo’s on the beach we re-boarded and set sail once more.We slowly retraced our route back to the port and dis-embarked back in Stavenger again.

We sat dockside whilst my dad went back onboard to fetch Sven for my mum before exploring the port well into the afternoon.

Once back on the ship we hit up Daisy’s Delights for a sandwich and grabbed a frozen berry drink in a souvenier mug ( bb8 for me, cruise line cocktail glass for Donna). After a meetup with the big dog himself we went and watched JuNnk (kind of like Stomp).the show was fantastic and we were thoroughly entertained. One quick change later we were headed for Lumieres for dinner.

We had

Starter

D, Ham and cheddar croquet

M, Yellow pea soup

Main

D, M , Duck

Dessert

D,Summer berry pudding

M,Sweet Temptations dessert trio

My mum had snails for starter and Donna was much braver than me and tried one. They taste like garlicky chicken apparently.

After Dinner we headed down to the adult section of the ship to see the Pete Matthews grown ups only show . . . Again hilarious and a lot ruder. After the show we saw one of the members of JunNk and had a breif chat letting him know how great the show was.

Sleep was calling us at this point and it would have been rude to ignore it
