First trip and rain

We are leaving on Thursday for our first cruise ever and the forecast is now 80% chance of rain or more and says potential for heavy rain. I know there are things to do, but does this stop most on board things and what about Castaway Cay, that we were excited about cause there were 2 stops there. Kind of bummed out right now. Cannot plan a second cruise for years. What things can we do if we need to stay away from the outdoors. Was so looking forward to seeing the sun rise and set, instead it looks like something else. Will the ship maybe go elsewhere?

There will be a lot of indoor activities onboard, don't worry! Rain is a bummer, but you'll still have fun. Check your Navigator for all of your options!

@jencor If it makes you feel any better, our cruise time frame was the same way ... the week of Sept 20-27 they called for rain mostly everyday and all day. At the end of the trip, the only time it rained was right before the sail away party and when we are at St Thomas ... and that was only for about an hour in total (15 minute spurts about 4 times). Otherwise, the weather was perfect (it was humid though!). Don't worry about it now ... wait ans see how it goes. There are tons of things to do both inside and out ... you will definitely find a way to keep busy! Take a look a the Navigator each day to see the Mixology classes, Cooking classes, Spa sessions, etc ... and most of all have a great time!

And if it is just rain and no lightening, it will be warm enough to hang out in the pools anyway. That can be fun - and most likely there will be far less people in the water!

They will sail around weather if they can, while at sea. So you will be able to see sunsets. Ports of call are a different story - if it is raining when you are supposed to be there, well then it is raining. They will have plenty of other things to do however.

We had rain during our stop in Nassau and in Castaway. Luckily we had just finished our dolphin swim when the rain hit Nassau. It was rainy and cloudy most of the afternoon at CC. The sun came out probably an hour before we were set to leave the island so we at least got some sunshine :)

A great majority of shipboard activities are inside or under cover (deck 4) and would seem to be weather resistant. Ports of call and Castaway Cay obviously not. It rained midday while we were on CC and it was much like WDW. We just waited it out as it was a relatively brief event. Had a great time getting even more wet.

I have been watching that closely. Watching the map also. Confident we will have fun and at least one great day at Castaway Cay.
Excited, we are leaving in the morning. Spent a couple of relaxing days at a friends place and ready to go have fun.
