No impact for me because I wouldn't buy a one day ticket. But it's just a matter of time until multi-day tickets adopt this approach. My guess would be at the beginning of 2017.

About time Disney did this for their theme parks. Airlines, sports teams, pop concerts, ski resorts, etc., etc. have been pricing their popular products this way for decades.

The real impact of all this will be when it applies to multi-day tickets. Just another dimension to throw into the trip planning algorithms.

I love how they think that you are "saving" money if you go off season but that isn't the case. It's just a premium during peak times. And that also have that "Tier 2" which we all know will be 80% of the year.

We can gripe here, but the hordes keep showing up.

To your point though, the price spread from Value to Peak is higher for the two Disneyland Resort parks compared to WDW. Disneyland and DCA are priced identically as per usual, with a $24 spread between Value and Peak tickets. Three of the WDW parks have a $17 spread between Value and Peak, with a $19 spread for Magic Kingdom Park between Value and Peak.

That's kind of interesting, and I'd love to know how they came up with those different numbers in Anaheim compared to the thinking in Orlando.

I am ok with this. At least it is not a general price increase and it could be far more complicated, but I am sure it will be more complicated in the future.

So is Disney pinching every dollar they can from guests? Rewarding those who come off peak season with lower costs tickets while hopefully decreasing guest attendance in peak season? Or just a bit of both?

They haven't laid out yet what dates are what Tiers. But expect very little "off peak" times. And even if you visit "off peak" there will more than likely be several attractions that are closed for referb so you won't get the entire experience.

$35 increase on a 10 day ticket is pretty substantial as it is. I don't want to even think about tiered on a 10 day ticket.
