In the quiet corner of Asia in Animal Kingdom, the mythical Forbidden Mountain rises from the peaceful village of Serka Zong. Welcome, to Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain!

A mega-thriller at Animal Kingdom since it's 2006 debut, the ride recently re-opened from a massive 2 year rehab, in which several of the ride's effects were either replaced, repaired, or new ones added. Let's hop on, and hope we avoid the Yeti!
RIDE
We climb into our tea-trains, which were formerly used to deliver tea to villages in the area. Now, they carry guests up to Base Camp, where they are escorted farther up the mountain.
And, with a puff of steam (which is actually a fog effect which will NOT overheat), we're off!
After a calm beginning, we climb up a lift hill, which provides AMAZING views of the area. However, during this climb, we begin to get the sense that something is seriously wrong, as we see a wrecked train sticking out of the mountain! Officials 'claim' the driver lost control, but it's strongly believed the yeti is behind it!
At the top, we descend into an icy cavern, where we feel the breath of something breathing on us. We also hear the sounds of something BIG stomping around:
, and the sounds of ripping metal:
Anyone wanna guess what that was? Well, if you guessed it was the track being ripped up, you're correct!
So, now what? You go backwards through another icy cavern, where you hear something big chasing you! Now, you stop and wait in the darkness for whatever it was to come and eat you! Well, just as you begin to zoom forward, a face appears out of a small hole in the rocks, giving you a glimpse of the thing that was chasing you:
Was it the yeti? Who knows? Eager to get out of the reach of the beast, you race down the mountain and into a cave, where you find out the monster has been following you! You see him watching your attempted escape:

In one last ditch effort to escape, you hurry into cave, which appeared to be uninhabited. Bad move! Remember "Disco Yeti", the yeti who didn't work for over 10 years? Well, he's back in action, and boy, is he angry!
Just barely missing the swing of his claws, you emerge from the mountain and into the sunlight! Congratulations, you've survived Expedition Everest!
