Epcot's UK Phone Booths Disconnected

I'm listening to Communicore Weekly, uploaded just a few hours ago on YouTube...Jeff and George are saying that Epcot has disconnected the phone booths. They still play Phone Booth Trivia, claiming that they recorded it earlier in the week to use for the segment before the booths were turned off.

So what gives? Is this a permanent thing, or are the booths being taken offline temporarily for maintenance?

EDIT -- Just tried calling all three numbers. Fast busy.

It's just mimicking real life! Most of our BT (British Telecom) and Red phone booths are being disconnected here in the UK. Bit sad they have to take them offline in the World too.
Though the dial tone at the one by Canada was still working when we tried it last week. We were hoping for a phone call.

life itself is slowly being taken offline in the UK with how poorly things are run.

I hope it is temporary, I was hoping to play a gag on DH one day where he would be in the booth and I would take his picture with my phone but instead really be calling the phone booth so he could answer.

All they need to do is add the smell of urine and some graffiti and hey presto it's 100% identicle to the real thing. Let's not knock Disney for being authentic
