I'm 16, and pretty surprised neither mom, dad, or my god-brother thought to try it until now. Since we've never been what should we expect? I know it's not a character dinner, but it does look really fancy, and I'm just glad to be going back to the contemporary! Last time we went was for Chef Mickey's in 2009!

We've dined here many times. The menu keeps changing so I can't recommended anything (since the meals are no longer there). The menu is "fancy", and you'll see people there nicely dressed, but, it's also an alternative to Chef Mickey's and The Contempo Cafe so you'll see a lot of families there, too.

Expect a dimly lit dining area that may or may not be kind of loud depending on how busy the restaurant is. Its not really fancy but the food is WAY better than CM and decently priced for Disney.

Those menus are a bit old now, here are the current ones

We've dined at The Wave on most of our trips. Its a good opportunity to leave the park to chill for a few hours in the afternoon, and we like being able to walk there from MK. Guessing from your age, it may not be useful information, but we have never had trouble getting seats at the bar to dine with no reservation.

Food is delicious, and I can vouch for decent pricing compared to other table service reataurants around the parks. Enjoy!

We have never had a bad experience there. Its not "fancy" so much as geared towards grownups - remember that Contemporary does have space for coventions and symposia, so The Wave is like a disney version of a "let's do breakfast/lunch/dinner and discuss business" restaurant. However we've only ever gone with our kids and the staff has always been sweet and accommodating to them. And every meal has been at least above average. 4 meals there so far, 2 planned next trip (staying at Bay Lake).

I may be in the minority here.. but I didn't love it.. The food was good, but the service was lacking. We were on the dining plan and had an ADR. We waited longer than I would have liked to be seated. One nice thing, they offered to allow me to trade my desert for a salad.

We had plans on going to the Top of the World lounge after dinner for Wishes, but by the time we were seated and ate, we only had time to catch it from one of the balconies there. It wasn't a great view (obstructed by construction and the monorail track), and it was kind of close to a smoking area, so that wasn't fun.

To be fair.. a part of it may be the fact that our 18mo was acting up.. so I left the table early with her while the rest of the group finished to push her in the stroller around the lobby to calm her down. There is a tv in an area that had episodes of Sofia on, so that helped too.

It wasn't a horrible experience, but based on it, it isn't really all that high on the 'will go back' list.
