I'm hearing reports that the archways over the entrances to the parking lots at Downtown Disney were demolished last night. Does anyone have photos to confirm?

Things get lost in posts. Next time might I recommend that you should make a topic? Anyway I didn't see that post anywhere, and it didn't come up in a search. And I felt that something as big as archway removal deserved it's own topic. Plus, they are all gone now, just just Entrance 1.

Nice comment. Thanks. I might suggest if you don't like the way it is run, you post elsewhere.

The issue with your previous new threads were that they were duplicates of others that existed. Posting new threads that are actually discussing something new is not a problem. I explained this to you at the time.

So I get yelled at if I post something which I think is new content and then get yelled at again for posting something in-thread to avoid getting yelled at for starting a new thread. How am I supposed to decide what you deem to be new content worthy of a new thread? Should I just pm you every time I consider posting an update?

It is actually really easy. 99.9% of threads created are not moderated. If a thread is a duplicate, it will be merged. There is no yelling, and no drama involved. You seemed to take offense at the moderation. As I have said, if you don't like it, go elsewhere.

would be great if someone would post before/after pics

I wonder what they will replace them with, I wonder if they plan to begin making the name change primetime soon as they are in high gear erasing the downtown disney name, along with the final traces of the pleasure island name

I'm confused about this: is Disney Springs going to replace Downtown Disney, or will it be an expansion of it?

Downtown Disney (from my understanding) is no more. It will be rebranded as Disney Springs. I am not sure if Marketplace, West Side or Pleasure Island will remain their names or not.

Downtown Disney is being renamed Disney Springs, effective sometime in early 2015. It will consist of the West Side, The Marketplace, The Landing (replacing the current Pleasure Island location), The Springs (area of water between Pleasure Island and current parking lot that will be re-done and expanded) and Town Center (new buildings being built on current parking lot area in front of Pleasure Island).

Both.

Most of Marketplace and Westside will remain while getting new things added on. A causeway bridge for marketplace and food trucks, starbucks, some much needed shade and paint for west side. Pleasure Island is being almost rebuilt from the ground up. I would venture to guess that only 50% of the original structures will remain and most are being modified. Pleasure Island is basically becoming a dining destination with somewhere around 10 restaurants and some small shops scattered about.

Where it gets interesting is the parking lots. A large portion of the lots are becoming a shopping destination much like an outdoor mall. This area will be themed much like old floridian towns scattered about the state. In this area will be a large expansion of World of disney as well as other shops both disney owned and non disney owned. One notable shop is rumored to be Apple.

Flanking either side of this shopping area that is as wide as PI are 2 parking garages which are enormous. One will hold 4,000 cars and the other will hold more than 2,000. For more info check out these links:
