Do I need to pre-purchase park tickets from Disney to have MyMagic+

My wife and I are passholders, our kids are not, and we're staying at BC next January. Assuming MyMagic+ is rolled out by then, do we need to have pruchased our tickets from Disney in advance of our trip? I usually buy them from a reputable website. Thanks!

Well I bought mine a few week ago for my trip in a few weeks. I bought annuals but i can not add them to my account til I actually pick up the tickets. i only had the will call option as a florida resident. The number on the certificate doesn't help. It needs to be the actual ticket so I don't know if it will help. Then they actually have to be testing it during your say.
