Do DVC memebers get shut out of available rooms by CRO?

Hi-I attempted to rent pts for a 5 night studio stay Jan 8-13 through Disboards. I was told by disboard members that WL, BC, and BW were not available (SSR and OKW were).
I just called Disney CRO and asked for the same dates and they had a lot of availability. can someone explain? Do DVC members get blocked out of available rooms? :dazzle:

There are only a limited number of rooms available for DVC members at each resort. The rest are reserved for rental as hotel rooms. This is done to come up with the cash to fund the DVC members non-Disney rooms for the "partner" hotels in Hawaii, Europe, etc.

Yes, once the members have booked up all the available member rooms you can not use your points at that resort.
