"To handle the increased amount of traffic in the area..."
There's some positive thinking.
Yes 10 lanes
It is already needed now, so will certainly be required once the place is twice as big.
It's six lanes now, isn't it? That's going to be one big expanse of concrete.
It's going to be a real mess while they build it but will be wonderful when it's done. I know that there is a lot of negativity in the thread (about lots of things including DS) but I'm quite looking forward to the expansion. They're taking a lot of dead space and actually building something with it. It's the TLC that Downtown Disney needs.
Yes currently 6
Honestly the traffic could support it now. Even on a slow day in the off-season it can be a pain getting to DTD from around property.
Dedicated bus lane is a smart idea.
I started off the thread with a joke, but I agree.
wow...this is good. That area is very congested now and if Disney Springs becomes what I think it may... this will be VERY welcome and will be huge. Also the pedestrian bridge is really needed. Last time I was there, I recall having to stop several times at the lights while DTD workers and bus drivers crossed the crosswalk...and I always thought how it would only take 1 driver running a red light to cause a major problem.
Glad to hear this and I for one have always been excited about the Disney Springs project... and as more and more things are being worked on, the bigger this project seems to be getting
Yeah, but they've done a great job of mastering the large pours and elimination of those pesky green things...(what are they called)...oh yeah, trees.
Just spin. They needed these extra lanes 10 years ago.
is there anything decent even going into Disney Springs?
This is true.
No spin, just my words.
Yep, a lot
I think you're exaggerating a bit...
Oops. I thought that was a pulled from a Disney release or comment.
I like that comment, because you typically don't say things like that without at least some knowledge to back it up. I'm trying to be optimistic about this, but my sadness at the loss of the PI that was is still there.
The majority of the property is trees. Get over it.
