In the Haunted Mansion pre-show at WDW, in the room that gets bigger, the ceiling moves up. But at disneyland, the floor goes down. rather odd.

Yup, the reason is because the show building for the haunted mansion at disneyland goes under the train tracks because it was put in after the railroad was put in, while at WDW they didn't have that same problem so there was no reason for the room to go down but by then the stretching room was so popular at Disneyland that they put it in the WDW as well, only the ceiling going up instead of the room going down.
