Team Younger proudly presents:

Century City
A Toon Town

Walt Disney's very first animated work was created in 1922. To celebrate a century of animated excellence, the many major animation companies have come together to work with Walt Disney Imagineering to create the greatest Toontown style theme park land to ever exist, opening on the 100 year anniversary of that cartoon in 2022. Century City is a truly a celebration of animation!

Dr. Doofensmirtz's
Cartoon Crossover!
As new O.W.C.A. (The Organization Without a Cool Acronym) recruits, it is your job to help Perry the Platypus stop the evil Dr. Doofensmirtz, but when Dr. Doof unleashes his Interdimensional Portal-inator, you get sucked into the adventure as the barriers between cartoon world's break down!
latest

-queue-
The queue line is themed as the lobby to Doofensmirtz Evil Incorporated. You pass by recreations of some of his most famous evil "-inators" from the show (he calls all his devices "-inators").
inators_zps4bc8a0bb.jpg

-pre-show-
You enter an "elevator-inator" that will take you to his penthouse lab. In reality, the elevators don't move vertically. They just vibrate a bit to give the illusion of movement. During the elevator ride, Major Monagram (the head of O.W.C.A.) briefs you on your mission. Also, Carl (an intern at the O.W.C.A.) gives you a safety briefing. You then exit the elevator and board the ride.

-Ride-
The ride reuses the simulators and technology from Star Tours. The animatronic C3PO is replaced with an animatronic Dr. Doof. The small screen on the side now shows Agent P who is sitting wearing a seatbelt.

The ride starts with Dr. Doof asking if everyone out on their seat belts like his assistant (the cast member) told us to. "Good!" Dr. Doof responds, "now you are all trapped!" Agent P struggles against his seat belt. "Now, behold! My ultimate Inter-dimensional portal-inator!!!!" The machine accidentally back fires when he tries to use it to send the minivan that took his parking spot into another dimension.

The backfire sends us back to a random cartoon from the 50s to the 80s. Much like Star Tours, there is an element of randomness to the ride. Some examples you might find in this section are: Looney tunes, Jetsons, Flintstones, Transformers, Jem and the Holograms
, and Scooby Doo. Wherever you are, Dr. Doof is looking for a portal out. Eventually he finds one taking you to...

A random cartoon from the 90s to today! Potential examples include Ducktales, Spongebob, Tailspin, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Simpsons, or Over the Garden Wall. You find another portal that takes you too...

Nothing. You are in either a blank black expanse or a blank white expanse. A giant floating baby head drifts by (a running joke from Phineas and Ferb). Suddenly an interdimensional traveller comes and rescues you (after a quick detour through their world of course). Some examples of Interdimensional travelers are: Star Butterfly (Star vs. The Forces of Evil), Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls. Dr. Doof agrees to owe Bill a favor in exchange for help getting home), Rick Sanchez (Rick & Morty), The Planet Express Crew (Futurama), and Steven Universe (Steven Universe. Technically, gem warp pads only travel long distances, not across dimensions, but its close enough lol).
f89a602a0e5e242166c8b0bacd878455.jpg

After landing safely back in Doofensmirtz Evil Incorporated, Dr. Doof notices that Agent P has broken out of his seatbelt. Perry hits the self destruct switch on the Inter-dimensional portal-inator. Dr. Doof brags that "jokes on you Party the Platypus! I installed a blast shield to protect me from the self destruct switch." As he says that, the shield between guests and the animatronic begins to raise. "Wait! No! I'm supposed to be on that side! Curse you, Perry the Platypus! And Disney World guests!!!!!" You hear a boom and an O.W.C.A. agent (exit cast member) tell you that you are now free to escape Dr. Food's clutches and release your seatbelts.

-exit-
You exit out the right into Century City, but a "Gift Shop-inator" is nearby. Not large enough to be a full store, it is really only a large merchandise cart.

Note: as a similator, this ride can be easily updated with new scenes as new cartoons become popular or as featured cartoons become less popular.

Mickey Mouse and the Mad Doctor's Manic Mansion
"Manic Mansion" for short

Guests are ushered into the Mad Doctor's Evil Lair.... I mean mansion... to see a demonstration of his newest experiment. Little do they know, they are the experiment!
Mad_Doctor_Poster.jpg

-Inspiration-
Biggest inspirations are the Mickey Mouse short "the Mad Doctor" and the Silly Symphony "Skeleton Dance." Small parts are also inspired by the Mickey Mouse shorts "Lonesome Ghosts" and "Haunted House."
Another big inspiration is the Haunted Mansion attraction. Manic Mansion uses the same ride system and feature some tributes.

Sidenote: Unlike the shorts that inspired the attraction, Manic Mansion is in color. But very soft, muted tones.

-Exterior-
images

The exterior is made to look like the Castle/Mansion from the Mad Doctor short. The show building will be built with the queue and mansion on top of it. So, it will appear as if there is a large hill/mountain with a castle like Mansion overlooking Toontown.

-Queue-
The queue is primarily outdoors, but well shaded. Guests start by winding their way up a shaded path to the top of the "hill." They then cross a bridge into the mansion which is clearly too small for a full ride. The bridge gives great views of Century City and trees on the other side block views of the parking lot.

-preshow room 1-
Guests are ushered into a small room with a painting of the Mad Doctor smiling and happy as well as an old timey radio. The Mad Doctor's voice can be heard over the radio welcoming us into his mansion. He is excited for his new experiment and he simply cannot begin without you! As he talks, his painting mysteriously and subtely transforms into a much more sinister, evil smirk.

-Preshow Room 2-
Guests are then ushered into one of two waiting chambers. This time the Doctor's voice comes on informing guests that they are now his prisoners! He is going to take us to the lab as the subject of his next experiment! He then activates the "trap door." Much like the Stretching Room in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, the room is really an elevator lowering us into the showbuilding below. Instead of a stretching effect, state of the art projection effects and forced perspective techniques create the illusion that guests have just been dropped from a trap door and are now plummeting way down. Guests are then ushered out and into the ride vehicle (Toon Buggies) loading area.

-Ride-
The ride is divided into three main sections. The lab, the graveyard, and the mansion.
-Section 1: Lab-
images

images

The lab is full of creepy, crazy contraptions and experiments. Lots of buzz saws and ray guns. This is where the Mad Doctor has the largest presence. Even if he can't be seen, his looming shadow usually can be.
images

You find Pluto chained to a table about to be experimented on. You hear Mickey's voice from behind you "T-there you are, Pluto! This place gives me the c-c-creeps. Let's get out of here! And we'll break these fellas out too!"

-Section 2: Graveyard-
images

images

images

You escape the lab and enter the graveyard. It is full of dancing skeletons as well as the weird skeleton spiders from the Mad Doctor short and other crazy skeleton based gags and creatures. This scene is meant to feel like a zany, madcap chase.

-Section 3: Mansion-
hqdefault.jpg

images

Lastly, you reenter the mansion to find the exit. More spooky/fun gags and scenes (mostly inspired by the shorts) surround you. Eventually, you escape the Mad Doctor's clutches. But you hear him one last time: "You may have escaped my mansion, but there's still one last fright to be had! Beware of Lonesome Ghosts!"
images

The Lonesome Ghosts appear and say stuff like, "look boys! Our ride is here!" Or "Hey, any of you's got room for hitchhikers?" We then pass by mirrors featuring the Lonesome Ghosts playing pranks on us as we pass (similar to current Hitchicking Ghosts scene). We exit into the Forest section of the town near the Mystery Shack which features a section dedicated to Manic Mansion merchandise.

Rocky and Bullwinkle:
Soaring Escapades

upload_2017-2-11_11-28-45-png.189008

Inspired by the classic yet underrated Jay Ward cartoon, Rocky and Bullwinkle: Soaring Escapades is a family, themed flying coaster similar to Flight School at the neighboring LEGOLAND Florida.

After queuing through a snow-ridden barn, we see projection shadows of Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale, the two main Russian spy antagonists from the show, scheming from a nearby room. Trouble is afoot!

We board cartoon planes suspended from the sky-blue track above , similar to the one Rocky has been seen driving in the show.
upload_2017-2-11_11-38-13-png.189009

A smaller replica of the ride vehicle.

What follows is a short, but sweet roller coaster ride through the woods of Toontown, flying through barn sheds and cliffsides, encountering our lovable heroic duo as they take down the villains. The ride ends with a climatic finale when Boris classically throws a bomb at us, sending us down a swift, crash-landing drop before Bullwinkle accidently saves us all.

Guests will enter the wonderfuly wacky laboratory under a fog-spouting beaker. Guests will then enter the queue room which is surrounded by bubbling beakers, full of mysterious liquids. Keen-eyed guests may even notice x-rays of favorite Disney toons. In groups of 15-25 guests will then be escorted into one of two screening rooms, where a short film made by Dr. VonDrake welcomes guests, before he distractedly turns it over to his assistant. The assistant explains how we will visit three laboratoroes, and we will need an ID card. ID Cards are then passed out, each with a different color identifier, being Green, Blue, Red, or Purple.
image-jpeg.189546
Guests then exit the theater and through a corridor. Guests are then led into the Pigment Labratory.
image-jpeg.189542

Here, guests will be situated in front of a "Color Cannon" with a "Digital Painter's palate" in front of one of two laboratory settings, whe we are instructed to scan our RFID enabled ID card. Using projection mapping technology, a projected flying drone comes and displays an image of Professor Von Drake. He explains to us how we can use the paint Palate to control the color that comes out of our cannon. As test subjects, we are invited to use our color cannons to color the laboratory. Afterwards, the result of our area is saved to our ID card, before we are instructed to the door.
We then enter the Aqua Lab, with the assistance of our leader. We are surrounded by two small pools, and three river-esque areas surrounded by screens and glass. In this dark room, an overhead monitor suddenly becomes a glow with the Professor. He tells us that we are to use the colors from the pigment lab to make magical fountains.
image-jpeg.189552
We then can use the screens to control a magnificent light show, which is recorded and saved to our ID card. We then continue into the final, symphony room. Here we can run through a variety of stations, full of laser instruments, such as harps and guitars, and even digital drums.
.
image-jpeg.189555
image-jpeg.189556

Guests can make symphonies, and try to match up with light, and fountain shows, making a show soundtrack. If they choose, guests can then add this onto their ID cards. We are then thanked for visiting VonDrake Labs, and told to visit transferstations, to add our research to our My Disney Experienec Account. When we visit the exit, a variety of kiosks allow us to turn in our cards in, and give us the opportunity to link to our MDX account by scanning our magicband, ticket, or entering our email.

Internet Alley
Located near the house of mouse restaurant is internet alley, a small sub area dedicated to internet animation.
Upon entering, the first thing you will see is the bee and puppycat meet and greet, where you can meet the characters from the beloved internet series.

tumblr_mqrckkrAX61sxpf4no5_500.jpg

Across from the meet and greet is the main attraction of internet alley: Charlie The Unicorn: Journey to Candy Mountain. This walk-through attraction follows the same story as the first video (told through a mix of projections, miniatures, and simple animatronics), but has elements from every episode. It is essentially a dark ride, but you walk the ride path instead of boarding a vehicle.

To the right is the final element of Internet alley. It is a projection playing the first episode of annoying orange in the window of a building.

50's Primetime Cafe and 60's Saturday Morning Cafe

image-jpeg.189188
image-jpeg.189187

Ever since it was deemed that 50's Primetime Cafe would have to close to make way for Oswald's Lucky Lounge, so it could be in the same boundary as Century City/Toontown. Upon a small fan backlash, Disney decided to review profit numbers, and after an extensive search of Guest surveys, it was determined that the most profitable option would be to renovate Hollywood and Vine to become a renovated version of 50's Primetime (construction on turning the original prime time cafe into Oswald's had already begun).

In addition to the revival of 50's Primetime, a new breakfast option would be added in which all TV's in the restaurant would play Saturday morning cartoons, as the establishment becomes 60's Saturday Morning Cafe. Using built-in screens in the façade, the restaurant magically transforms at 11:30 everyday. The menu will be transfered from the original for lunch and dinner.

Oswlad's Lucky Lounge
oswald_and_ortensia_pins_by_drawingstar12-d9xtljq.png

After semi-retiring from acting, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit decided to open a classy jazz club in Century City. It serves as a more adult focused table service restaurant known for its live jazz music, high quality food, signature drinks (during dinner time), and classy atmosphere. The Lucky Lounge will be built where the 50s Prime Time Cafe currently is. The dining area will be expanded and a dance floor added, but the infrastructure (bathrooms, kitchens, entrances, etc.) can be reused and remain largely unchanged to cut down on costs.
54d84f4f852924ae4787cc7b28b05b70.jpg

This is meant to help visual the entrance. It is only an example used for visualizationand not meant to be literal.

The dining hall features a large dance floor for any and all guests who wish to dance along to the music. Lunch time features a lot of up beat jazz covers of classic Disney songs and sometimes Oswald and his wife Ortensia will be out dancing with the younger ones (and eachother). A full service milkshake bar will delight and entertain diners of all ages.
All%20That%20Jazz_3.jpg

During dinner time, the tone becomes more mature with a more upscale atmosphere. The milkshake bar becomes an actual bar serving signature drinks. The music becomes more traditional jazz club fare.

The menu at the Lucky Lounge is a mix of steak and seafood dishes. Scattered around the lounge are "props" from classic cartoons. To keep with the upscale atmosphere, these "props" are realistic versions of the items from the cartoons. For example, the main walk up bar is housed inside an old school trolley (meant to be representative of the trolley from Oswald's Trolley Troubles). Posters advertise Jessica Rabbit, Felix the Cat, Betty Boop, and other cartoon characters from the 20's and 30's as upcoming performers (though they never actually perform).

Many after hours events will be hosted here. Club Villain will now be hosted in the Lucky Lounge. A wild New Years Eve part is thrown here every year. Dapper Day will have its second day moved to Hollywood Studios from Epcot and will feature discounted meals and drinks to anyone who dressed up for Dapper Day.

BOB'S BURGERS

upload_2017-2-11_11-23-3-png.189006

Parked near the House Of Mouse, Bob's Burgers provides a quick service-alternative to the character sit-down meal nearby. The building replicates the famous restaurant down to the slightest detail, including the lime-green exterior paint.

Once inside, you can sit at the small bar or take one of many velvet red booths to sit at. The restaurant serves up high-quality yet fastly-cooked burgers and sandwiches for the entire party to enjoy.

Perhaps the most famous animated fast food restaurant will be recreated in Century City! Guests can look through the "window" (a tv screen) to watch the frycook (Spongebob) as he cooks. Built out of the ABC comissary, this QSR location will share its kitchen with Bob's Burgers next door. Regular Quick service restaurant fare can be found here, but the signature dish is, of course, the Krabby Patty! Just don't ask for the secret formula ;)

House of Mouse
image-jpeg.188787

This new dining experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios will replace the Sci-Fi dine-in theater, and feature a unique entertainment option for diners. Centered at the end of Internet Avenue, the House of Mouse welcomes guests into a foyer, where an animatronic Daisy can be seen making calls, as an actual hostess invites guests to wait around. In this foyer, guests can converse with an interactive mirror. Upon being buzzed, guests will be taken oast a boarded up wall where they explain "the normal entrance is closed for refurbishment, so you have to go through backstage". After going past a bouncer that prevents non-diners from entering, guests will pass a series of windows where sillhouettes of backstage hijinks can be found. Guests then will enter the multi-tier dining area, with views of the main stage. The menu will remain largely unchanged from Sci-Fi, with more emphasis on milkshakes, and a new dessert called the "Melty Mouse", with hot fudge poured over a thin shell, which melts it, revealing the ice cream center.
On stage, an AA Mickey Mouse MC's acts and the like, alongsode an animatronic set of the Quack Street Boys. All other characters are created using projection effects.

On the outskirts of the Town Center, guests can enter the huge, brick, ACME warehouse, inspired by the Looney Tunes. Above guests, carts full of merchandise go on a track, which occasionally contain favorite characters. An area of the store called the "Fireworks Factory" have crates atop tall shelves that explode with a smoke and lighting effect when hidden cords are pulled. Also, various switches will cause effects to occur, such as seeing a feed of Sylvester getting electrocuted.

Animaniacs- Loose in Century City
image-jpeg.189577

On the shores of echo lake, and the windows of various stores, guests can spot one of four "Animaniacs: Loose in Century City" shows. A small water tower on top of the building rises up, as a narraration says how the Warner Siblings were locked up in Century City's Water Tower, before the lid pops open, and we see a brief animatronic appearence by the siblings, as they sing an abbreviated version of their theme song. From then, they go to one of four second story rooftops to perform a brief skit done through a mix of puppets, animatronics, projections, and live actors.
Doctor's Office:
Say "Helooooo, Nurse!" As the siblings wreak havoc at this medical practice. They even shoot water out of get well soon flowers to watchers below.
Barber Shop:
Watch as an unsuspecting customer getsthe haircut of a lifetime.
The Gag Shop:
Watch out for seltzer water, as they hilariously pull pranks on store employees.

The HISHE Super Cinema Scavenger Hunt!
How-it-Should-Have-Ended.jpg

Themed after the popular film-parodying, YouTube based, animated series, How It Should Have Ended (HISHE), the super cinema scavenger hunt starts at a booth set up in Internet Alley just outside the Super Cafe (where guests can look through the window to see (a projected image of) Superman and Batman sipping coffee while discussing heroic deeds).
the-dark-knight-rises-how-it-should-have-ended.jpg

The scavenger hunt then goes through the entirety of Hollywood Studios! At the starting booth, you receive a "Map to the Stars" that serves as your guide for the game and either the ability to download the game as an app or a device that can play it. Take your phone or device to the spots listed in your map and use the app to take a photo of the landmarks listed. Each one you take a photo of unlocks an original augmented reality animation made by HISHE parodying the movies and tv shows represented by that spot in the park.

Once you've taken photos of all the spots on the scavenger hunt, take your phone or device back to the starting point to receive a special certificate or, for a small fee, a collectible pin only available to those who complete the scavenger hunt.
