"Carousel of Progress"

What is the status of my favorite attraction, "The Carousel of Progress" in the Magic Kingdom? I heard rumors that it's closed. It was great for old-timers as myself who can't go on "Space Mountain", "The Tower of Terror", "Test Track", etc. It's a nostalgic and educational ride starting from the "Good old Days" before packages had to be inspected when entering theme parks and people were kind and not suspicious of their neighbors.

Carousel of Progress is still around (and wonderful). I agree that it is one of Disney's finest.

The attraction is open but needs a rehab desperately. The show quality is good, but many of the signs are showing age. Most areas need paint. The Audio-Animatronic fathers should really be updated with new technology. Why this was done in 1992 with 20+ ten-year-old Animatronics with the American Adventure and not 4 fourty-year-old Animatronics from the Carousel of Progress, I don't know.

I won't be satisfied until we get a new script, new finale scene. And I'd really love to see a breathtaking introduction scene and orchestra score.

Make sure you do Soarin on your next trip. It isn't "rough" at all, and is a must see.
