car trip activities for toddlers at night

Anyone have any activity ideas for a 2year old on a long car drive in the dark? (besides glo doodle)

do you have a protable dvd? if not in the cark Id let mine look out and see if they could ffind ny red lights, or blue, yellow and made a game of it and then how many stars do you see until they passed out.

Portable DVD players are great. I have also bought several cheap toys, especially ones that work fine motor skills, and stashed them out of sight until the trip. Before you get to a meltdown, whip out one of the toys and it will give you more time of peaceful driving. Don’t forget a stop to let them stretch their legs. They will need it as much as you!
