    Hi Guys,

Heading over in July and already booked the Castle and Be Our Guest. I'm wondering why I'm unable to book either the Fantasmic dinner package or Dessert Party 180 days out like the rest of the restaurants??

Any other must do restaurants with a 4 and 7 year old??

Good to be back on the forum :)

Computer seems to have some glitches try calling and see what's up. Wishes desert party isn't always posted at the 180 day mark. For the kiddies we love Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's lots of food and character interaction

1900 Park Fare is a great one! It is at the Grand Floridan Resort. It has buffet for the adults and one for the kids! Cinderella, her stepsisters, Prince Charming, and the stepmother are some of the charters that you can see there depending on the time you go. :)

You should be able to book the Fantasmic dinner 180 days out, but the Dessert Party usually opens for booking about 2 months in advance.

We love Crystal Palace and Akershus for character meals. Non character meal favorites are Boma and Kona.

As far as the dessert party, we just last week booked for February. we were only 6 weeks out form the date we booked before the date was opened.
We had trouble booking our July trip today too. we made it half way through, then the server went down. we had to call WDW DINE to get the rest done.
I hope you get what you want. if you want more help deciding, allears.net has menus for every disney breakfast, lunch and dinner. the WDW site has this info as well. There are so many great chioces for kids, and Im sure youll enjoy them as well. Have fun!!

We went to 1900 back in October the food was only ok. The characters seemed very rushed which is not typical in most places.

If I recall correctly, the Dessert Party can only be booked about 30 days out. Might be a few days more than that. It's not included in the 180 ADR list. I recall being able to make a reservation for the Fantasmic package about 60 days out.

We run into this every year. Most ADRs are loaded in to WDW system 180 days in advance, but the dessert party is a different animal. It is usually 60 days out, but there is not an exact time frame for it. You just need to call each day around that time.

also, you are right. sometimes the fantasmic packages are not available exactly on the 180 day mark. but usually soon after, so check often. sometimes they are available by phone and not yet online, and sometimes the opposite occurs. and sometimes they are available and the CM can't manage to get into them. i have hung up after being told they weren't loaded yet, called right back and gotten it.
i find the two reservations you listed as the biggest headache of my dining ressies when it's time. both require you to frequently check back if you really want them.
    keep on checking.
also, prior posters are right, dessert party usually opens 45-60 days before event. with no warning and no notice. but don't drive yourself nuts over these until closer to the date

Here's a chart that was posted on one of my threads awhile back. This is the historical dates that the Dessert Party has opened, so I'd guess middle to end of April for a July party.

We just tried this one for the first time in August. It took first place for character experience and last place for the food. Based on that one and our first lunch at Hollywood and Vine (also awful) we will most likely stay away from the lunch/dinner buffets. With the exception of Boma and 'Ohana. But that's my opinion of course...and a few others I've heard more recently. :)
