In honour of my other half's favourite ride at WDW, I've been baking!
It was his birthday last weekend. Last year I made him an Olaf cake, but it was a bit of a failure (hence not posting photos). I practiced my skills at 3D cake sculpting over the summer, to the point when, while we were riding BTM last September, he jokingly suggested I could probably make an entire cake mountain by now.
I saw this as a challenge, and a photo of the result is attached.
The cake involved 12 individual baked chocolate sponges, a 50cm cake board, nearly 3kgs of frosting, eight different coloured food dyes, four pots of edible paint and several brushes, printed rice paper, lots of patience, 15 hours' work, and lots of wine (for me, not the recipe!)
Anyone else let their love of Disney parks influence their culinary skills?
