Best place to eat in a resort or Downtown Disney

Hi! We are on a mid-day flight on our way down to Disney. We decided not to buy tickets for that day, as it would be so late before we actually got to a park. Here is the question: We (DH,DD4, and myself DW) want to eat somewhere we normally wouldn't notice in our daily treks around the parks. I would love to hear some of your suggestions. I believe this will be the meal I will look most forward to. I love trying new things. So, if you have a favorite resort restaurant, or Boardwalk, or Downtown Disney restuarant....PLEASE give me your suggestions! Thanks so much!

You should definitely try the Flying Fish Cafe or the Kouzzina by Cat Cora at the Boardwalk. While albeit pricey, I love the food selection and offerings at these restaurants and recommend your family to give it a try.:)

Edit: My favorite meal at Kouzzina is the Macaronada -Pasta Ragu with Braised short rib of beef - $25.49

My favorite meal at Flying Fish is the Ginger and Teriyaki Char-Crusted Yellowfin Tuna - bok choy, Asian mushrooms, carrots, snap and snow peas, with a lightly curried carrot-coconut lemongrass infusion $38.00

Yeah, that is a good one, but we aren't going into the parks that day. So, I was looking for a Resort restaurant, or Downtown Disney. How is Wolfgangs? Or Cape May? Or have any of you tried the restaurants at Ft. Wilderness, or Grand Flordian? Even though this will be my 9th trip, I've never been to the Boardwalk...anything good there?

i was at Boardwalk for the very first time a month ago, the food there was really good i won't deny. true pricey, but still good.

i have to say, though, Epcot's restaurants and Food & Wine festival offers so much more flavor with much better prices. that's always been my most compelling reason to visit, it's the park with the best food and cultural experience, always.

Not sure where you are staying. If on property, any one of the resort restaurants you are not staying at would be novel. I would think any one of the monorail resorts would give the added benefit of riding the monorail around the loop before or after dinner and you could stay to see the fireworks if not too late for your crew. If staying off property, DD is great. Eating at Earl of Sandwich can leave enough room for a Ghiardelli (sp?) dessert.

It's just one of the many reasons why I love staying at the EPCOT Resort hotels. Good food options. Close proximity to half of the WDW Parks that you don't need to take a bus. They're all deluxe resorts. Nice to take an evening stroll through the Boardwalk on a nice sunny night. 8/9 times I've been to WDW, we have either stayed at BCR, YCR, Or Swan hotel. The one time we didn't was when our family stayed at SS through my aunt/uncle's DVC plan since they had a unit there. No question EPCOT has the best food options your spot on with that one.

Boardwalk had the greatest between your resort options excluding the parks. Wolfgang is a nice place, but for more greasy food. never been to Cape May oops, Ft. Wilderness isn't exactly a place for dining unless you wanna go to the Hoopdy Doo (which is probably the best theater/dining experience you'll ever have imo). the Grand Floridian is prim and fancy so it'd be high priced.

me personally, i rarely go to the Hoopdy Doo, because it's so expensive, but i love going when i do. Boardwalk's prices are high as well, but not as much and honestly just grabbing stuff and then sitting on the tables and benches on the Boardwalk pier is just so cool. i normally go to the Grand Floridian for high tea in the lobby, but it's also very seldom due to it being expensive and i normally go with family members anyway.

i love going to the Marketplace off the parks and dinner is usually at Earl of Sandwich and then walking over to Ghiradelli for ice cream and making a treat at Goofy's Candy Co. for the next day.

We are staying at POP! So, I do think going to GF or Poly or Ft. Wilderness, or Animal Kingdom Lodge would work. I just like to hear all you guys opinions and suggestions. And as this is our "free night" I would like to eat, and get back to POP! and take a swim! I want to be there for rope drop the next morning.

Now, There is nothing in this world my husband loves more than a sandwich. We actually have our best fights when I cook a roast or meatloaf and then see him throw it between two buns....ARGH!!!! But, Earl of Sandwich sounds awesome!
