Any chance of the 5k or 10k opening up?

I just found out I'm going to be at WDW 12/30-1/5 and it's on my bucket list to run Disney...but the 5k & 10k are already sold out - is there a snowball's chance in you-know-where that either of them will open up?

I'd lean towards the slim chance. Yes, the Dr Strange 10k and Star Wars Dark Side 10k closed/reopened a few times, but the ones for Marathon weekend have very few bibs. A large chunk of them (used to be 75%) are allocated to Dopey runners, so there aren't many left over. Your best bet would be to try to check with the travel agents and charity groups listed on the page. Travel agent may work out depending on what you already have booked, most will require you to make a booking with them of X number of nights stay. A charity group will most likely look for you to raise at least $500 for a bib.
