Didn't see this mentioned, so just a little Disney News bite...
The 3rd Elephant born at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park was just born on Monday, December 19th, at 12:24 am. The little tyke (a name has not be chosen yet) is female, and weighted 233 pounds at birth. Labor took 16 minutes. The mother is Donna (21 years old) and the the father is Jackson (who was on a breeding loan from the Pittsburgh Zoo and has since returned.) Both calf and mother are doing well according to the Animal Programs veterinarians.
The new baby is half sister to Kianga, the second baby elephant born at the park in July 2004. (Jackson is father to both.) Tufani, a male born in May 2003, was the first baby elephant born at the park.
