:confused:Question for you very nice people.

Has anyone ever used Americar rental service. The rates they quoted for my July trip were very cheap. $98 a week for an Escort or similar. Is this rate full of hidden costs? (got burned in London once). Any help would be appreciated.

I am new tothis page and would like to say hello and thank you I have gotten so much great advice by just lurking.

I've never used them in Orlando, but have used them in my area and have had nothing but good times with them. In fact, we BOUGHT a car from them once and that was a pleasant experience. We did have mileage limitations and could only use the car in certain states, but other than that, it was fine.

We're going to be using Americar this summer too for the first time... I was quoted a really cheap rate too, so I was concerned about hidden costs. I am renting it for 9 days, and was quoted $88.67 a week, and $15.67 for each day over the 7 days, and then with tax it came to $181.24 for my total for 9 days. (unlimited mileage) I still feel that's a really good deal compared with others. They told me that it's not in terminal (no biggie) I just call them on their courtesy phone when we arrive, and they come to pick us up. We'll see how it goes.........

That's not a bad price for 9 days considering that I'm renting a car in Phoenix in June for 8 days and it's costing me $400+. I am getting a convertible, but that's still a big difference in price.
