....a simple observation:
Outside the United States borders, people regard us as AMERICANS. We aren't black-Americans, we aren't white-Americans, we aren't rich or poor Americans...we are AMERICANS. Only within our borders are we so hell-bent on dividing ourselves into groups and pitting one another against each other.
When the planes struck the Twin Towers yesterday, they didn't discriminate. It killed all races, all religions, all ethnicities, rich and poor. It killed AMERICANS. We need to walk away from this heinous act with a simple lesson....there are no hyphenated Americans outside these borders...we need to check our baggage at the shores and get over the hang-ups of where we came from and concentrate on where we're going as AMERICANS.
