A purple MagicBand coming soon?

I saw this picture posted on a different WDW message board, so I guess it means a purple MagicBand coming in the future?

the outside portion you tear off for kids also is black not grey. switching to black for all bands?

Bought the purple Haunted Mansion band today. Interestingly it feels a little thinner and more flexible than the complimentary ones. It's definitely easier to put on. Maybe they're getting ready to make this change across the board?

These purple ones are the first to use the new chipsets. So they are thinner, lighter, and have a longer battery life.

Eventually all the bands are going to be made this way but I don’t know if that’s going to be ASAP or slowly over time.

They can link it at the register, or you can enter the code into MDE yourself.

There is a code on the back of the band. If you buy it in the store they can link it to an existing account at that time for you, or you can add the code to your MDE account yourself to tie the band to your MDE account and ticket media.

For purposes of MDE, it now shows up as a purple band (at least on desktop, the app just shows the MB number). I have quite the collection, now don't I?

Those with my name in caps are AP bands.
Upper/Lower case bands are resort bands.
Of the remaining (no name, just a band number, they are):

• Gray and Purple: Haunted Mansion
• Green: MNSSHP 2014
• Yellow: F&W Festival 2013

I read that a few minutes ago. It's an interesting idea to allow more customization to the MagicBand.

Saw it too. One thing that is consistent is the only way to get a purple band so far is to purchase one. And, yes, I've already bought the HM purple band.
