"These films are the definition of the kind of films we want to do," he said. Disney may produce more such movies if the first three are successful, Cook said.

Rides that haven't already been exploited for film....

It's a Small World War - World war three breaks out and it's the dolls from IASW that have to save the planet by singing everyone to sleep.

Space Mountain, THE MUSICAL . An orphan girl must learn the meaning of trust when her evil caretaker puts her on a rocket to space. Along the way she is befriended by talking meteors, shooting stars, and a giant COOKIE.

Coming soon to a theater near you.

I have a bad feeling about all three movies. CBJ looks sorta cheesy, HM sounds like a bad comedy, unless Eddie Murphy is goint to play a straight man, and Bruckheimer will probably destroy PoC just because his movies have busted before. My opinion.

I think all three movies will do well (especially HM and PoC) only because people know them and can relate them to shared family times.

I hope that these movies can do something good for the Walt Disney Company.
The can't be any worse than the crap they put out in the late 70's early 80's.

Apple Dumpling Gang rides again
Freaky Friday
Candleshoe
North Avenue Irregulars
Return to Witch Mountain.
Watcher in the Woods.
TRON.
anything with Ken Berry in it.
:dazzle:

(still having nightmares about my traditions class) No more synergy!!!! Please!!!!!!

I had to spend 8 hours sitting in that big room, looking at the synergy wall with pictures of Lion King stuff...... all because I didn't want to look at the animatronic Figment head on the opposite wall.....:lookaroun

As I'm carried away in a straightjacket, I wonder if I'll ever be ok again.

I'm excited about CBJ. I've even got the movie poster hanging in my hallway. However, I'm a little scared about Haunted Mansion though. I heard Eddie Murphy was going to star in it.

Jerry Bruckheimer is a well known director and has made several big budget movies that while they may have not been the best, (eg. pearl harbor) they did make a lot of money........and that is good for disney

Beware the Bear

If any of you have seen the extended trailer for the Country Bear movie, you would be appalled by its terrible nature. This looks as if it was made for a tv release rather than the big screen.

The bears have no relation to any of those we know and love from WDW.

It makes the Tower of Terror movie look like a masterpiece.

Sad to say really, as I'd think that any of these attractions could really be excellent if brought to the big screen by someone who knows the ride/show. Unfortunately the wrong people are writing the scripts.

Heck- They should have done an Alien Encounter movie- it's practically a movie now.

BTW- Never bash Tron. Tron is every programmer's dream and it was surprisingly accurate in its predictions of modern computing. Heh....:lookaroun

I agree. The thing is, I hope it fails. However, will this decrease the attendance at the WDW show? If it is a success, will the change the WDW show?

Dang...they didn't need to do this...It seems be FOR the fans. But, what is there to attract? :(

I like how the guy in the article who works for the movie says that "this is a movie for the fans" and that it will make new people appreciate the ride. Well, they'll either appreciate it because they'll see it has nothing to do with the movie, or they'll ask Disney why the heck they created a ride that has nothing to do with the movie. I really hope it's a fun movie, but I think it already fails for not connecting with the ride.

I have a few things to say...first of all...the HM movie with Eddie Murphy...can you say CASPER???

Second of all...what about a movie about a newlywed couple that decides to have a fun game of hide n seek and the bride gets locked in the chest??? and then the Master hangs himself...what about that storyline??? Then you could show the master in the "afterlife" in the Mansion with the hitch hiking ghosts and all the other "fun" that is going on. (Sounds like an easy winner to me)

1) NEVER Bash TRON!

2) The lines "this one is for the fans" was also issued by George Lucas during the release of Episode I and we all know how much we still want to hunt Jar Jar down and hurt him.

3) Storylines shmory lines, Look at the big picture. The haunted mansion movie can still include all of the story as Mr. I sold my soul Murphy encounters all the ghosts.
