Is it possible to support a family on a Disney paycheck?

My dh is in the Army and when he can retire in a couple of years he'd love to go work for Disney. I'll still have a young child and would like to stay home with her. Is it possible to earn a good salary at Disney starting out? Is there a resource anywhere that gives an idea of what CMs make? He'd be happy doing just about anything, and has skills that will hopefully be marketable.

Any opinions on whether it would be worth it for him to go talk to Casting when we are there in August, even though his military obligation isn't over till 2007? He has maintenance manager experience (but would be happy with any job at this point which doesn't involve long field trips to the middle east and lets him come home every night).

Definately not. Most jobs there start in the $6-8 bucks an hour range. Unless you've got some other means of income...doesn't look bright. Disney is not known for paying well.

Sad but true.

as an hourly cast member - NO

as a para-professional, manager, or Professional position - possibly - depends on the position and your experience

It really depends on the position...

The college kids working the attractions... nah...

But something tells me that Eisner is having no trouble bringing up his family with his Disney paychecks...

With the experience in Maintenance Management, I would assume that it would at least be a possibility. I would look into it if it were me.

I support myself but I had a lot of help the first year from my mom. And she still helps if something comes up I need money.
