E3- New Zelda Released!!!

Man, I kept hoping Nintendo would come up with something HUGE for the Cube this year, not just another Zelda. They need 3rd-party games stat. Just by glancing at new games coming out, the vast majority is XBox and PS2 only. I REALLY love my Cube, but I haven't bought a game since Mario Kart, which was a bit of a let down. And before that, all games I had I bought when I got the system. So really, Nintendo, gimme something GOOD! Otherwise, you'll end up following Sega into the realm of games-only companies. Or maybe not, since you do have GBA. Which I don't have, cause every time I think about getting it, you release a new one. Go figure...

Sadly zelda is the only thing halfway decent they showed (game wise) this year...if it wsant for the new gameboy..nintendo would have NOTHING. Sony wasnt much better. HUGE flop this year. Microsoft on the other hand..DOMINATED..had so much to show, and got the best responce.

OH.and here..new zelda..

ACtually the new Fir Emblem and Advance wars games are huge and so is the new info on Metroid Prime 2.

And the DS is not a new Gameboy. Infact, the new Gameboy along with GCNext are going to be showcased next E3.

Upgraded hardware, 2 screens, wireless bluetooth gaming, better sound, palm functionality.....its a new gameboy..in fact if it WASNT, they wouldnt emphasize that its "backwards compatible" with GBA games :) (it would simply say plays gba games..not that it goes backwards to play them)

and for 150 bucks..im definatlly getting one...gunna skip the PSP tho..2 hours of battery life and a thick price tag doesnt win me over

Well, it's good to know it's GB compatible. I suppose it still plays the old GB and GBC games as well? I was thinking about getting a SP, but I might as well hold out for this one. I like its look, reminds me of the old Game & Watch games...

November 9th....Halo 2 comes out.....that day, you won't see me on this site for probably a week, maybe two.....

I don't know about the DS.....I just don't like the way it looks. Too bulky looking if you ask me. I'd rather invest in the PSP, but I may wind up getting both anyways.

I'm somewhat impressed with Nintendo....Star Fox 2 (finally) and Zelda look great. XBOX did well too....Terminator 3: Redemption, Doom 3, Halo 2, Conker: Live and Reloaded.....they all look great. There's also GTA: San Andreas from Sony, looks good as well.

Hey Dan, do you think Revolution will play Cube discs? I think that's Nintendo's biggest mistake: not continuing its library on the new system, like it does with GameBoy and like Sony does with PS.

And just a trivia bit for you all: PS2 and XBox all sell more than the Cube (even though Nintendo is now claiming they're ahead of XBox). Anyways, they both use regular DVDs while the Cube uses mini DVDs. Down here, I'm the only guy I know who has a Cube. I don't know anyone with a Box and basicaly everybody who has a new system has a PS2. You know why? The black market THRIVES down here. I can't get copies for the Cube, but I have NEVER seen an original PS2 or Box game being sold. It's unbelievable. An original game sells for around 210 reais. A copy goes for 30. That's like 70 and 10 dollars, respectively. Does it happen like this in the US?

IF nintendo was wise, they would most definatly consider backwards compatibility. That has prooven to be a selling point for systems so far...and nintendo REALLY cant afford to screw up again (for consoles at least). As for their claims that they sold more than xbox, well..IF thats true (which i doubt), its mostly because of its 99 dollar price tag here in the states....50 bucks cheaper than the xbox, and a whole 100 cheaper than ps2 (which is now also down in price). Biggest proof of how poor GameCube is doing, go to any video game retailer, and notice the amount of shelf space a gamecube gets in compairison to a xbox or PS2....looks a lot like the Macintosh section....empty.

Game piracy here in the states does exist, its just not widely practiced. MOD chips are pretty much required to run any copies of any games for any console (gamecube doesnt need one, and there are non-mod chip solutions to xbox..but thats just total geekstuff)...and to install such a device requires you void your warrenty, and in some cases will ban you from using a systems online service (which for some is a HUGE downside). If you are willing to take those steps, you can copy your own games (rent em), in the case of the xbox you can copy em to the internal hard drive, etc....which of course..is illegal. The MAJORITY of people dont mod their systems tho, since most of em are afraid of the process ;)

(note: my xbox is HEAVILY modded but its honestly just so i can run 3rd party applications on it.)

As a GameCube junkie (and a news junkie, and a Disney junkie, etc), I can say with conviction that the next GameCube (new codename: "Revolution") WILL play GameCube disks.

Also, the Nintendo DS (note the name) is not the next Game Boy. It will be marketed as a third pillar. Think of the original GBA as the economy model, the GBA SP as the upgrade, the DS as the Deluxe model. If the DS takes off, which I assume it will, the GBA might just become the Revolution's standard controller (adding a analog control stick, rumble, tilt sensor, bluetooth, ect.). That way, it can continue Nintendo's console-handheld connectivity. By making it manditory, you cut out the need for additional cables/hardware. I also assume this will have a touch screen, on-board memory, ect. This way, your next-generation Game Boy becomes the controler, the memory card, a tablet interface, AND you can play games on it when it's not acting as the Revolution's controler.

Don't write-off Nintendo's E3... Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat sounds cool, and so does Odama (crazy Japanese strategy/pinball? I'm there!) and who can forget Pikmin 2? Plus, a new F-Zero and Mario Golf for the GBA. I had a conversation about this year's E3 with a friend of mine, and we came to the conclusion that you either love Nintendo, or hate Nintendo. It's funny, because I think that's the way it is with theme park fans... there are very few Disney fans that are in-between.

I think the DS will beat the PSP. The price, wi-fi, close prox wireless, chat, two screens, and GBA backwards compatability is great. GBA will still be around once the DS comes out, since the DS will compete with the PSP, not the GBA. The kids will carry the GBAs, and the big boys will carry around the DS!

As for the GCN, I don't think it's failing at all, just that Microsoft and Sony are willing to pony up more cash for advertising on store shelves.

I dont hate nor love nintendo. Im actually saddened by what they have become. They are still paying for the Sony mistake from YEARS ago...and seem to have lost touch with a lot of gamers. If it wasnt for their hardcore loyal fanbase in japan, they'd be dead in the water right now.

Im still standing by my statment that this isnt just another pillar of a gameboy. There are TOO many upgrades to simply pass it off as just that. It even has a new processor in it. Im not bad mouthing it at all..i think its gunna be great! I just dont want it being under-hyped for what it really is. It IS going to bury the PSP...not many people can afford that thing..plus its design is a bit shady. And yeah..the proposed battery life of the PSP is already making many people turn around and run towards nintendo.

On a different note....As much as im looking forward to the game..i was SO dissapointed in the halflife2 e3 demo movie (available as a 700 meg download at fileplanet.com ). Its like they didnt really change much since last year when they first showed it.

I also want to see more than 15 seconds of "in game" footage from doom3. What i saw was SWEET..but i wont be convinced of the games quality until i see a good run thru of a section of the game.

Halo 2 didnt dissapoint tho :)

My friend, were you even at E3? Who the hell gave you your info? The PSP is at least 10-12 hours of battery life. Also, Nintendo had ALOT to show, whereas Microsoft showed the same stuff it's been showing for the last 2 years. Sorry, Microsoft did not dominate.

The DS is real. I played the thing behind closed doors for at least 1 1/2 hours. I thought it was a joke before I saw it, then I played it and am sold. It's legit.
