What's happened to Disney as far as the animation department is concerned? Look at these past titles and upcoming titles.

Aladdin: Return of Jafar
Aladdin and the King of Thieves
Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
The Little Mermaid: Return to the Sea
Lion King II: Simba's Pride
Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World
Cinderella II: Dreams Come True
The Hunchback of Notre Dame II
Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure
Peter Pan: Return to Neverland (Theatrical Release: February 15, 2002)

There's even more Disney animated sequels currently in production for future release:

Tarzan 2
Mulan 2
Dumbo 2
Hercules 2
Snow White 2 (unconfirmed)

 Whatever happened to originality? You can read more about this here:

Oh, but you forgot about:

Jungle Book II
Lion King 1 1/2
101 Dalmations II/Live Action/Live Action II
Lilo and Stitch - "626"
Atlantis II

. . . the list goes on.

And ALSO in production is BAMBI II. And ANOTHER Stitch movie. Along with a Mulan III, and a rumored Pete's Dragon.

It's WRONG. Always has been, always will be.

Few creative exceptions, but in general. . . flat-out wrong.

just remember, if people werent buying/seeing em..they wouldnt keep making them. Like em or not..they DO make money. Ultra low production costs + high amount of demand from KIDS (most kids dont see that these movies are horrid..) = profit. Thats the bottom line. So what if their integrity is shot? Dont matter to them..its a corporation..remember?

This by no means indicates that i AGREE with what they are doing..but i understand. During my time there, all i can say is, you should see the stuff they DENIED....wooooooo

LOLOLOLOL HAHAHAHA!! Grizz! I love your new avatar and sig.... it RULZ lol :D'

But also, on topic. I usually hate the Disney sequels. They make no sense and turn them into musicals! And they all have the same basic storyline. It really irritates me! The only really good sequels so far have been LK 1 1/2 and possibly a few others.

Are you sure? From my perspective it appears the 2-D will have a long life in sequals. Most of the sequals' animation is just not as good as the orginals. Look at Buzz Lightyear, as an example. The animation was not 3-D, is was more like some of the cruddy saturday morning stuff. Lady and the Tramp II was the same way, the animation was just weak, eventhough the original was traditional 2-D.

Sequels: A Few = not too bad. Most = horrid.

A thorough list of sequels...
My personal take of these listed by cherrynegra:
  • Aladdin: Return of Jafar - forgettable
  • Aladdin and the King of Thieves - forgettable, but better because of Robin Williams...barely
  • Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas - Christmas-y. Pretty. Stupid.
  • The Little Mermaid: Return to the Sea - horrid
  • Lion King II: Simba's Pride - forgettable
  • Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World - nice music; better than most
  • Cinderella II: Dreams Come True - an absolute travesty - a veritable Trilogy of Terror
  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame II - nice music; better than most, yet forgettable
  • Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure - forgettable
  • Peter Pan: Return to Neverland - forgettable, but luscious on the big screen
Please allow me to add these to cherry's list (Thank You, General Grizz):
  • Jungle Book II - forgettable, yet OK
  • Lilo and Stitch - "626"- I'm sorry...I like this one a little...I'm a softie for the Hawaiian theme
  • Atlantis II - liked this one a teeny bit, simply because of the "Trilogy"-style of storytelling...but very one-dimensional visually and aurally
  • Lion King 1 1/2 - actually returned it to the store for my money back...hated it. However, beautiful sound, fun games for kids, poots and graphics
  • 101 Dalmations II - No, thank you.
  • 101 Dalmations Live Action - forgettable
  • 102 Dalmations Live Action - unforgettable...an embarrassment
  • 101 Dalmations III - reserved for future comment
  • 101 Dalmations IV - reserved for future comment
  • 101 Dalmations V - reserved for future comment
  • 101 Dalmations VI - reserved for future comment
  • 101 Dalmations VII - reserved for future comment
  • 101 Dalmations VIII - reserved for future comment
  • 101 Dalmations IX - reserved for future comment
All right, already...I'll stop with the 101's.

I almost fell off my chair, cherry!! Then I cried. My mind boggles at the thought.

My Final 2¢:

Bambi II?! Mulan II AND III?!!

I have lost my will to live.

I'm suprised no one mentioned the Lion King 3! :hurl:

Toy Story 3 is also in the making, along with POTC 2/3!

If I remember correctly for Lilo&Stitch there is the original, "Stitch: The movie", Lilo and Stitch - "626" (?same one?), and in the making "Lilo and Stitch 2"! :hurl:

And I think Lion King 3 is the same movie, but it was just called Lion king 1 1/2 in America.

I think 1 1/2 is a renewed version, and 3 is about the story through Timon and Pumba's eyes.... Maybe it is the same?

In Europe, The Lion King 1 1/2 is called The Lion King 3, I do know that for a fact. 1 1/2 (or 3) is a story told by Timon and Pumba.

By the way, The Emporer's Newer Groove? Will David Spade and John Goodman return to voice? The first one is actually one of my favorite animated movies.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or 3! :D
