Hey everyone. Here is another ISTCrew Original for March 15th. Today, my sister and I met my aunt at Epcot. So, in this update, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom...

At Epcot -

--Dreamchaser's in the Test Track post show was closed and walled off. There is a rumor going around that it may be changed to a 3D film.
--Canada was getting some outside facade work done.
--During the rehab for TT, a spiel was added while you are pulling out of the load area, saying the seatbelt check is right around the corner.
--On MS, yet another spiel was added, inside of the capsule, saying something to the effect of "If you become disorientated, motion sickness bags are located in the pouch in front of you". Also, the "loud sounds" warnings in the preshows and voiceovers were taken out.
--The Global Neighborhood is indeed closed. Signs outside though were still stating that the Global Neighborhood was inside.
--Food Rocks is still on the times guide, but is listed as closed.
--The front of MS by the planters, and to the right of the gift shop was boarded up aswell.

After we ate at Epcot, we went on over to AK -

--Lines were increbible. 75 minutes for Primeval Whirl! Everything else was pretty much an hour.
--Triceratop Spin was OPEN today. It looked great since the rehab. They added a new control panel, and new exit gates. They had some castmembers on hand to help the other CM's with the new control panel.
--They are in the process of finishing the new CM gates at AK. They are visible when you pull into the bus loop. I got pictures.
--On the Wildlife Express, they now include a spiel about "Expedition Everest. The most thrilling ride Disney has ever produced. It opens in Asia in early 2006, and will be the tallest and fastest ride at Walt Disney World. It will also feature a close encounter with the mythical Yeti, the fearsome beast said to guard Everest". That's not word for word, but that's almost exactly what the guy said. You can also get a pretty good view of the construction area. I don't know if the trailers that are visible from Conservation Station are for Everest, but there are sure alot of them, right on the banks of the sewage river. You gotta look through quite a few trees to see it while your walking to the CS.
--The food stand was still under rehab in Camp Minnie Mickey.
--Now...for the Everest news. Supports keep getting higher and higher, and the yellow crane was actually constructing some of the brown supports today. The footpath is said to open (straight from CM mouths) "Tomorrow" "Wednesday" "Thursday" "Friday" "Saturday" "This Week" "Next Week" "Not til 2006" lol...I got different answers from everyone I asked. Today, the rope cutting off the footpath fell, and people started to walk across. it was even 15 second before no less than 6 managers were on hand to tell the people to come back. I asked them, and they all said that the path will be open before Saturday. So, regardless, it will be included in my next "original", next Saturday. The CM at the nearby soda stand said the bathrooms will open with the path, and the "world class" shop, and restaurant will open with Everest.
--I also found another weird thing in the parks. I know it was just my mind, but I just thought it was a tad little bit weird for them to use this particular number. Just wait until you see the picture..It will speak for itself.

We left AK, and went to Boardwalk, and had a great burger at Beaches and Cream...
Ok, so, Im burned to a crisp, my legs are about to break, my eyes are about to close, and I feel like junk...and that's just from 2 days in a row at the parks. I don't know how you guys do it for weeks at a time. Pictures will be up soon, and a great "Original" should be up next week, with lots of good pictures of Everest, the Village, and the path. Good night y'all.

Hey Patrick, thanks as always for the great updates!!! I have a question though, Everytime I see a pic of Soarin' being built in EPCOT it looks like such an eyesore behind the Canada Pavilion. Any thoughts on how this will be minimized/ eliminated? Belle

Thanks for the great info. Your pictures are great--you are such a cutie--how do you have time to go to the parks so much? Aren't the girls all over you??? :)

Anyway, I don't know about the "69" on the cart. Is this new? I'm sure there is some reason, but I doubt it has anything to do with the "mind in the gutter" reason! LOL

We ate at Beaches and Cream last week--it was about 9pm and that place was a total mess. I was so disappointed in it. We had the "No Way Jose", which was great--but everything in that place was sticky and messy. The counter where the CMs were making the ice cream were filled with syrup, banana peels, rags, just junk. I had to ask the CM to wipe off the counter twice. There was ice cream all over the floor also. After hearing a lot of raving about the place on all the messageboards, I was very disappointed in the "real thing". It was overcrowded, messy, and noisy. Not to mention that most of the ice cream was half melted by the time it got to us.

Buh? Tower of Terror is just as tall and both RnRC and Test Track are faster. How sure are we about the 50 mph number?

well, we will have to see if they continue calling it the tallest, fastest ride at Walt Disney World after people start questioning it...there haven't been any official stats from Disney yet...it could be an inch taller than Tower of Terror--isn't ToT 199'9"? As for speed...it would be hard to get it past 65 mph w/o use of LIMs, so it's either an error or we don't know everything about Everest.

Great update.

Good Pictures too. I can't imagine Everest will go faster than Test Track. Does anyone know how fast California Screamin at DCA goes? If that gets to 66, then maybe Everest could too?

It will blend, I promise  Seriously, though, steps are being taken to make it look oh so good behind any pavillion. Definately not what we had in mind at first (at least me :) )

BeachClubVillas - Oopsie, you're right. I always refer to all the hotels around the boardwalk...simply as Boardwalk lol.

Mr Nonacho - Exactly. The information they were saying on the train is not right, or atleast, it doesn't match with what we know.

Corajack - The cart isn't new, it has been there since Asia opened. You can actually sit in it...It's a photo spot lol. As for Beaches and Cream, we walked right in, and ate right away. I love the theme of that place. The Jukebox kept skipping though.

Until the facts are realased, I think Disney can slightly exagerate the stats of this ride to build up plenty of hype - and its working.

Lets just hope they don't exagerate too much and leave us all disapointed. I personally think this attraction will be awesome though!

If it doesn't end up as the fastest ride, it will still be very impressive. The thing is impressive now, and it is not even close to being done.

Great update, or should I say "original", as usual Patrick! Keep 'em coming!

75 minutes for Primeval Whirl....scary, scary thought....

How were lines at Epcot?
