Hey everyone. Here is another ISTCrew Original for March 15th. Today, my sister and I met my aunt at Epcot. So, in this update, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom...
At Epcot -
--Dreamchaser's in the Test Track post show was closed and walled off. There is a rumor going around that it may be changed to a 3D film.
--Canada was getting some outside facade work done.
--During the rehab for TT, a spiel was added while you are pulling out of the load area, saying the seatbelt check is right around the corner.
--On MS, yet another spiel was added, inside of the capsule, saying something to the effect of "If you become disorientated, motion sickness bags are located in the pouch in front of you". Also, the "loud sounds" warnings in the preshows and voiceovers were taken out.
--The Global Neighborhood is indeed closed. Signs outside though were still stating that the Global Neighborhood was inside.
--Food Rocks is still on the times guide, but is listed as closed.
--The front of MS by the planters, and to the right of the gift shop was boarded up aswell.
After we ate at Epcot, we went on over to AK -
--Lines were increbible. 75 minutes for Primeval Whirl! Everything else was pretty much an hour.
--Triceratop Spin was OPEN today. It looked great since the rehab. They added a new control panel, and new exit gates. They had some castmembers on hand to help the other CM's with the new control panel.
--They are in the process of finishing the new CM gates at AK. They are visible when you pull into the bus loop. I got pictures.
--On the Wildlife Express, they now include a spiel about "Expedition Everest. The most thrilling ride Disney has ever produced. It opens in Asia in early 2006, and will be the tallest and fastest ride at Walt Disney World. It will also feature a close encounter with the mythical Yeti, the fearsome beast said to guard Everest". That's not word for word, but that's almost exactly what the guy said. You can also get a pretty good view of the construction area. I don't know if the trailers that are visible from Conservation Station are for Everest, but there are sure alot of them, right on the banks of the sewage river. You gotta look through quite a few trees to see it while your walking to the CS.
--The food stand was still under rehab in Camp Minnie Mickey.
--Now...for the Everest news. Supports keep getting higher and higher, and the yellow crane was actually constructing some of the brown supports today. The footpath is said to open (straight from CM mouths) "Tomorrow" "Wednesday" "Thursday" "Friday" "Saturday" "This Week" "Next Week" "Not til 2006" lol...I got different answers from everyone I asked. Today, the rope cutting off the footpath fell, and people started to walk across. it was even 15 second before no less than 6 managers were on hand to tell the people to come back. I asked them, and they all said that the path will be open before Saturday. So, regardless, it will be included in my next "original", next Saturday. The CM at the nearby soda stand said the bathrooms will open with the path, and the "world class" shop, and restaurant will open with Everest.
--I also found another weird thing in the parks. I know it was just my mind, but I just thought it was a tad little bit weird for them to use this particular number. Just wait until you see the picture..It will speak for itself.
We left AK, and went to Boardwalk, and had a great burger at Beaches and Cream...
Ok, so, Im burned to a crisp, my legs are about to break, my eyes are about to close, and I feel like junk...and that's just from 2 days in a row at the parks. I don't know how you guys do it for weeks at a time. Pictures will be up soon, and a great "Original" should be up next week, with lots of good pictures of Everest, the Village, and the path. Good night y'all.
